Is there a physiological reason men are attracted to many beautiful women? I am 23 and I love dating. I have a steady girlfriend right now and we're fine. I know this sounds very selfish, but I love having her as a girlfriend and still getting attention from other girls (not physical attention, just flirting). Will there be a time when I want to settle down with a woman (her or another)?

The flirting thing is ok WE never really grow out of it. Makes us feel atractive and wanted. Even if we never act on it.

the question is do you want to have sex with these other women.

I think that you will eventually find someone who fulfills your every want and need. My boyfriend (soon to be fiance) has been involved in numerous relationships and lived in various places. However, he tells me that he always knew that he would settle down when he found the right woman. He is now 30 years old and finally ready to take the plunge!! I just count my blessings that I am the lucky woman he chooses to be with! In all honesty, I think that it makes him a better partner to have lived life to its fullest and had as many experiences as possible. He knows what else is in the world and he chooses me!! One day I think you will find that special someone as well!

Perhaps you just like the attention from other women, maybe it has to do with your past not getting attention from girls or maybe you just love a lot of girls thinking you are attractive. Perhaps one day you will feel you don't need attention from other women and just be happy with your girl friend

Maybe not....I know guys in their 50's that have never settled on one woman. You may be of the same type. I feel sorry for your girlfriend. Maybe she'll seek out the attention she needs from other guys instead. LOL

Well, age applys to a degree. Some men are ready to settle at much younger ages. Also, some men's preferences are kinda like roller coasters....i wanna settle, i don't wanna settle, i wanna settle, i don't wanna settle. And some men get settled, but stay sexually active outside of their commitments.

So, it depends on the guy.

There's nothing wrong with flirting if your girlfriend is secure enough in it and you're mature enough to not cheat on her. This is a major trust issue however and getting to that point can be a tedious and long process. I pride myself in knowing other chicks want to flirt with my man, cause it shows him I'm not the only one that thinks he's handsome and I know he won't go wandering on me. This should be discussed with her and figure out how you two should approach this. Good luck!

Nothing wrong with a little flirtation. You just have to know where to draw the line. I am 44 and engaged. I love my fiance`. Some of us have huge egos and that is normal and in some ways healthy, socially. As far as having only one woman, we never only want one. We just come to a maturity that we realize that we have a conscience. God made us to be partners with ONE.

I believe that depends more on your conscientious decision making and the beliefs, values and norms by which you conduct yourself. When you "settle down" and committ, if you do it half-heartedly, it will only lead to heartache.

Once you make a decision to travel down one road, you get what comes with driving down that road. Stay the course.

Genetically, men are programmed that way. We want to spread our genes everywhere...that's natural...that's why marriage is the best, when you can overcome those urges and have them for only one woman. That's the best feeling there is.
