i looked on the weather page, and it calls for rain here, and snow where im going. im scared that there will be alot of turbulance. is it really safe to fly in those conditions??? SERIOUS ANSWERS PLEASE im scared enough as it is! thanx God Bless♥

Don't be worried. Rain usually does not effect flights. Usually no turnulance with rain. If you fly over a thunderstorm there can be turbulance. A little snow should not matter either. Don't worry though - if the conditions are not safe, they won't fly. I have flown in all those conditions before - nothing to worry about!

I have always been scared of flying...it's just one of those things, no good reason for it, but I am. I have been flying a lot lately and so I'm getting more used to the little bumps in the road.
What you'll notice if it does get a little bumpy is that the pilot will try to steer around any big high altitude clouds because it seems to be bumpier in them. Also, the wings are built to flex and sometimes that makes a little noise but it's exactly how they are built to work. The last thing is to realize what all the sounds are...I used to get really nervous whenever I heard the landing gear or hydraulics in the wings...but since I like for them to be able to turn and land, I guess I really do like those sounds :-)
As for turbulence, the airlines try to do their best to minimize how much they encounter...they want a pleasant smooth flight so you'll have a pleasant experience. Also, the pilots talk and try to figure out the best altitude and flight path. Sometimes it's unavoidable due to weather, but even in the very, very unusual heavy turbulence it's still safe to be flying. Turbulence is an inconvenience but not a safety problem...so long as you're not drinking coffee.

As always flying is the safest way to travel, so think of it this way, if you would be willing to drive in these conditions... why not fly?
If there happens to be any turbulance it will be small and hardly more than a bump or two. It's part of flying and being scared won't stop the plane from shaking a little bit so breathe and take your chances because nothing is 100% safe.

It's okay, honey. The very first time I flew (less than one year ago) there was snow, and the flight was perfectly smooth.
Due to the rotation of the earth, there's usually a little more turbulence flying west to east than east to west, so depending on which direction you're flying, you might get a few bumps, but it's no big deal.
I was scared to death to fly the first time, now I like it! It really is a fun way to travel. Good luck!

AIrplanes are equipped to fly in foul weather... if it gets too bad, the pilot will re-route the flight (fly around the storm) and you might be a bit delayed in arriving at your destination. There might be a bit of turbulence... the pilot will "warn" you about it and tell you to stay in your seat. Don't be worried. These pilots are trained to handle the bad weather. The airlines will not jeopardize a gazillion dollar airplane and hundreds of potential lawsuits.... so you will be safe!!! Take your iPod and listen to music (not during take off and landing tho)... It will help you relax. Think about all the fun things you are going to do once you land... and you'll be there in no time!!!

No problems, I've flown through every kind of weather there is and I'm still here. If it's not safe to take off they won't and if it's not safe to land they will re-route the flight, but that would have to be an all-out blizzard. If it's really unsafe they will cancel the flight. Sit back and relax!

If it makes you feel better I am flying into Denver this weekend so I will be experiencing that,too. But do not worry, the pilots are very well equipped to handle that. Just take lots of stuff to do (books, magazines, cards, music). You'll be fine!

You fly above the clouds, so you don't even know it's raining. if it's not safe, they will cancel the flight.

yes they will tell if it is not and will either delay or cancel the flight.
