You don't need a passport for Hawaii. After Jan 23 2007 you will need a passport for flying to Mexico, Canada and most of the Caribbean. By land and sea you will need a passport after Jan 2008.
Go ahead and get your passport..... that way if you ever want to travel you've got it.... Here's the US State Dept site: http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html You need to apply in person the first time. Their site has all the info you'll need, application, what to take, where there are "passport acceptance facilities" (often at a post office branch).

once you're an American citizen, then no -- you will no longer desire a passport to flow to Hawaii. despite the fact that it appears like it somewhat is an prolonged way away -- and it somewhat is! -- you at the instant are not technically leaving the U. S., because Hawaii is between the 50 American states. that is as lots a factor of u.s. as, say, Iowa or Michigan. Your drivers license -- provided that is valid and present day -- would be adequate so you might commute with, offering you're a U.S. citizen, flying from someplace in the U.S. to Hawaii. (whilst you at the instant are not a U.S. citizen, i've got given you a link under so which you will examine and notice what you're able to need. once you're in the U.S. already, even nonetheless, i could assume you're an eternal Resident, wherein case a similar regulations persist with as in case you have been a U.S. citizen -- i.e.: no passport mandatory.) i think of there could have been a splash confusion by way of new regulations that have been applied in January of this 12 months -- they state that as quickly as arriving via AIR from the U.S. into Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, central and South u.s., and Bermuda, all U.S. voters could have a passport. (you do no longer presently desire a passport if arriving via land or sea, yet you will do as quickly as next January.) because you are going to Hawaii, nonetheless, you're advantageous. desire this enables -- have a secure holiday!

You need a passport to go to New Hampshire because it's a socialist country where Bernie Sanders is from. They're invading the US and if we don't get a stronger navy they'll end up with a longer Atlantic Ocean shoreline. I hope we never have anything socialist in America like public roads, schools, fire departments, libraries, military, etc.

Hawaii is part of the USA. You don't need a passport to travel within the United States, just to get in (assuming you're not a citizen). You should have one to go to Canada and Mexico (it's not absolutely necessary, but it'll make it easier).

You need no passport to travel from state to state.
It does take several weeks to get a passport and you need to send them your birth certificate so don't wait until the last minute to get it. Any US post office has all the forms and information on getting one.

you will not need a passport to travel within the US. However, you need one after 2007 to travel outside the country except Puerto Rico and the USVI.
