Well... my brother and I are 11 mos apart so he was only 2 mos old when my mom got pregnant with me. I have a cousin who's children are 10 mos apart. It's entirely possible to get pregnant the first time you have relations after having a baby whether it be 2 wks, 4 wks, 6 or 8 wks. Breast feeding can reduce that risk by delaying the start of ovulation by up to 6 mos but isn't 100% foolproof.

As soon as you have unprotected sex! Some women get pregnant even before their periods return and also breastfeeding is NOT a form of birthcontrol! The women who delivered the same day as me....her kids were 9 months apart! Good Luck!!

Immediately for some women. Fertility returns at different times for different women. If you are exclusively breastfeeding it will take longer to become fertile again.
BUT......it's a good idea to wait to try until the baby is at least 12 mos old. This protects the breastfeeding relationship (pregnancy can cause supply problems) and gives your body time to recover. Pregnancies very close together can mean complications such as PTL and preterm birth.

If i am not mistaken you can get pregnant with in a couple days...of having your last child. But your not supposed to have sex at least for a week after having your baby....I think. That is what the doctor told me at least.

I think everyone is different on this subject. The answer is as soon as your body begins ovulating again. For me, it was 4 months after delivery. Now, we have 2 children, 13 months apart. We love it!

The first time you have sex after birthing. The old wives tail is that if you are breast feeding you wont get pregnant. It only takes once.

you can get pregnant right away that is why most doc. tell you no sex until your SIX week check-up. It is not a good idea to have sex before then because a womans body is more acceptable to germs at this time and no matter how clean your man is, he is not sterile.

If you had sex right when you got home from the hospital, you could wind up pregnant. Doesn't matter if you're breastfeeding or not...Though if you are breastfeeding, some say your chances are reduced.
