Virtual memory is not your real memory but a section of hard disk space that the game uses to store data that it needs to get back to quickly but where is not so important that it needs to be stored in real memory.

Windows standard settings should allow CoH to have what it wants as long as there is sufficient disk space available. Do you have less than 750Mb free? If so clear some old rubbish out and try again. If you are close to 750Mb free then you could also do a defragment to tidy up the files on the disk.

There is also the possibility that the standard settings have been changed and no longer allow virtual memory caches that big. Where this is varies depending on the Windows version but in 2000SE, right-click on My Computer and select Properties. In the Advanced tab click on Performance Options and then click Change in the Virtual Memory section.

Good luck!

If the previous poster's suggestion doesn't work then it's probably due to a bug in the software; likely a memory leak. There's probably not a whole lot you can do about it except check the game's website and see if there's a patch. If there is then, obviously, download it and install it. If not you can try checking the forums and see if anyone there has a workaround until an official patch comes out.

Change your virtual settings. Put them on a new hard drive if possible. Do this in control panel > settings .
