I know that potatos don't, but I have heard a few magazines say that it is. It tastes so good so I would love to use it knowing that is contributes so much to my diet while being so yummy.

Also, are the UK guidlines on this diferent from other countries?

Calories and Carbs in Sweet Potato, baked in skin, no salt, edible portion

Nutrition Facts
cup (7.1 oz) large (6.3 oz) medium, 2" dia, 5" long, raw (4 oz) small (2.1 oz) oz
Calories 180(Kilojoules 752)

Sweet potatoes are low in fat and high in fiber, but also high in carbohydrates and sugar.
Total Fat 0.3 g 0%
Saturated Fat 0.1 g 1%
Total Carbohydrates 41.4 g 14%
Dietary Fiber 6.6 g 26%
Sugars 16.9 g

So, it's okay, but it shouldn't be a regular, just like a regular potato.

Nutrition is nutrition, regardless of country. The only thing that would differ would be the cup/oz measurement.

Of course, sweet potatoes have lots of nutrients such as Vitamin A and I am sure many others. Five a day by the way is a very low MINIMUM. If you want to be healthy, vegetables should probably be 50% of your diet (or more), fruits 20%, and the rest meats, eggs, dairy and grains.
