If you are of some sort of Christian or Catholic faith then the answer is yes. It's a part of the faith.

As far as any other faith or for no faith at all, No. When you wake up in the morning who dresses you? Who feeds you throughout the day?

Definition: need

• verb 1 require (something) because it is essential or very important. 2 expressing necessity or obligation: need I say more?

• noun 1 circumstances in which a thing or course of action is required. 2 a thing that is wanted or required. 3 a state of poverty, distress, or misfortune.

— PHRASES needs must when the Devil drives proverb sometimes you have to do something you would rather not.

— ORIGIN Old English.

According to the definition then you have a good start to decide.

Aside from the answer, this is a question that you need to ask yourself because it's personal. My personal answer is no. I don't need God.

You can say you don't need God or pretend he isn't there but he is and Satan is the one telling you that you don't need Him, but the only real way to see God and how much you need Him is by having faith in Him and making Him your savior, then you will really see God.

Well, you don't feel that you really need God unless you really do need him, when your hopeless loved one lying in a hospital between life and death, all you can do is to pray to God asking him for help.
when your brother or son goes to war you ask God to protect him.
You need someone or something to depend on when there is no one there for you........

You must look inside yourself to find that answer. For myself, I feel like I need to make meaning of my existence- and I find it hard to believe that we live simply to consume. I doubt that any one person can convince you one way or the other. It's a personal journey.
