I have a cocktail recipe for cranberry cosmopolitan and it says I need a "jigger" of triple sec... and I have no idea how much that is!

usually a jigger is about 1.5 oz but not always.. best bet... if it calls for 1 jigger put in 1 full shot glass and enjoy!

A jigger or measure is a bartending tool used to measure liquor, which is typically then poured into a cocktail shaker. It is named for one of the units it measures, a 1.5 fluid ounces (~44 ml) jigger or shot. Typically it is an hourglass shape, pairing a jigger on one side with a 1.0 fl. oz. (~30 ml) pony (shot) on the other. However bartending jiggers come in other sizes and may not actually measure a fluid jigger.

standard shot, 1 ounce.

If you type in google 'define:jigger' the resulting definitions will cover between 1 to 1½ ounce measures. I tend to go with the bar related sites which state that the standard shot or 1 ounce is the answer.

1 ounce is the big side, and 1/2 ounce is the small side.

1 oz.

BTW - using cointreau in place of the triple sec is pretty good, too.
