I want honest opinions on this. What should The Untied States do about illegal immigration? Illegals come here and think they can take over. And they say illegals do jobs Americans don't want to do. That's a lie. The Americans want the jobs but the illegals are taking the jobs away from them.

For the time being, America should hold foreign aid that would go to Mexico and use it to pay for services illegals use(since Mexico makes up 80% of the illegal population). For example: hospitals and public schools.
Fine employers who are caught hiring illegal aliens and landlords who are renting to them. Require proof of citizenship for those who apply for welfare, food stamps, or other government services. If this happens, many will begin to leave on their own, as they will have to be legal citizens to survive.
Better security for the border. We really don't need a wall, just ALLOW the border patrol to do their job.
Deportations for those discovered still living in the states.

What should the United States do...? is a rather ambiguous question.

What should the People do?, What should employers do?, What should schools do? What should parents, neighbors, YOU do?

Don't wait until the government does anything about it, because they won't. Remember that the "illegal aliens" card is wearing out from being overused by politicians.

It's the people who have the power.

The people can:

Ban retailers who hire illegals.

Stop hiring cheap gardeners or housekeepers.

Employ legal citizens.

Demand that their tax dollars be used righteously by their local representatives and governments.

Prefer domestic brands over foreign, Made-In-China stuff.

Yes, there are many things people can do, but apparently the favorite activity was, is, has been and will be for long, to RANT.

There was a time in this country when immigrants were given the option to join the military. My great grandfather did it during the civil war. What if we offered the illegal immigrants a chance to become citizens by enlisting in the military? then it would give them a hance to avoid the "long and expensive process" they complain about so much.

I doubt anything will work, because I think ILLEGAL (not legal) immigrants are lazy and have a strange sense of entitlement. LIke they should get to have the benefits of an american, but not become one, learn our language, or respect our laws. They wouldn't want to defend this country they so desperately want to be a part of. that would be difficult and dangerous.

Basically - stonger penalties and fines for the people who employ illegal aliens, and stop giving illegals welfare and free medical care!!!!

I live in Washington State, this year there were not enough people to pick the fruit or worker's in the packing sheds due to the stricter immigration enforcement. Last week we drove by several orchards and there was fruit on the trees that in previous years would not have been left unpicked. The prices of fruit has gone up as I'm sure will the price of many other items.
Most of the people picking or working in the fields, orchards and packing sheds appeared to be Latinos. Don't assume they are all illegal. At the same time I saw non-Latinos standing on the corner's begging for money because they do not want to go pick or do manual labor. There are always long lines of mostly non-latino people during picking seasons in the welfare offices who are unwilling to go do the manual labor.
There should be a law allowing temporary visas so people can come over and legally work, then return home. That is unless you or the other people who reject this idea are willing to go out and pick the fruit off the trees and work in the packing sheds or cleaning hotel rooms.

1. enforcement of all immigration laws. 2. border control. 3. fine and or jail those that hire or have illegals working for them. 4. fine and or jail those renting to illegal immigrants. 5. deport all illegal immigrants here in our country. If we do 1,2,3, and 4, we might not have many left to deport.

Build a Wall.
Guard it wisely.
(All those banned pit bulls, are now employed and useful)
Sue the Mexican Government for back child support, welfare and medicaid payments paid to illegals and ANCHOR babies.
Refuse to do any business or any trade with Mexico until their government does something to stop it, agree to help create jobs there, only if they agree to pay wages that will keep Mexicans at home. If you are caught in this country you go to PRISON in MEXICO... IF you hire them you are fine per person, ALOT, enough to put you out of business, there by making it a deterent.
Incentives to hire LEGAL AMERICANS.
w Plaque on the Statue of Liberty:

"Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

Here at our sea-washed, sunset hates shall stand

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

Is the imprisoned lighting, and her name

Mother of Exiles. From her beacon hand

Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command

The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she

With silent lips. "Give me your honest, your hardworking,

Your huddled masses of legal immigrants,

The best citizens of your teeming shore,

Send these, the Legal, upright and educated to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

First of all, let me tell you that I strongly disagree with your opinion about illegal immigrants. The media has painted a face that's not always true for illegal immigrants, there are some that came here illegally because of desperation and not because of wanting to take advantage. Contrary to what the public thinks, many illegal immigrants are really looking for a better life and to improve themselves. Why did they not do it legally? Because their conditions were too desperating and they didn't have the money, time, or patience to do it through the proper channels. It was an act of survival just like when someone steals out of a shop from hunger.

For a solution, I believe that first of all the United States government should immediately stop intervening in foreign politics to make them have an outcome to their advantage. Secondly, amnesty should be granted selectevely for those immigrants who have shown to be able to adapt and behave. Third, the borders should be secured with anything that's necessary. And last, but not least, The immigration system should be improved so that legal immigration is more accessible than it currently is, and that way people don't have to sneak in.

Find them all and send them back. Build an enormous wall clear across the border using illegals as laborers (for free) Huge fines for companies that hire them

1. language test. Don't know English? Go the hell back to where you came from.

2. criminal background checks. If you're a convict, don't bother, you're not getting in.

3. if you pass the first two tests, and have a job lined up for you, welcome! Here's your green card... If not, get your as$ back over the border.

4. You try coming in without applying, some combination of border guards and/or electric fences will quickly cause you to assume room temperature.

5. If you're an employer who hires an illegal, the government seizes the assets of your business and you go bye-bye...

6. If you get into the country illegally, you get NOTHING. no welfare, no licenses, no health care, no schooling for your kids, no jobs, no housing, nothing... We find you, you're deported immediately, with the cost of doing so being deducted out of the foreign aid budget for your country.

All illegals want to talk about is how they have more opportunities in America. If so then why the hell was it that you dumbasses had your dumbass marches in America. Then had the nerve to wave your mexican flags. I mean if you loved it so much why didn't you march there? Nobody gives a damn about what you want. Your opinion doesn't even matter. You can't vote. All you do is steal our identities so you can get what you want. You are all a bunch of crooks wanting to leach off of our government because your piss poor government can't afford to do anything for its own citizens. I hope we get approval to build a wall similar to the Berlin wall with armed gaurds who have the authority to shoot down anyone who intends to enter our country illegally. There is a process to enter and become a citizen legally. Quit trying to take the easy way out. Celebrate your Mexican pride in your own country.
