You can be sick and not have a fever. If you feel warm, you probably do have a low grade fever. Have you ever checked your temp. when you wasn't sick? Some people's normal body temp. is lower than 98.6, it could be 96 or 97 and when you run a low grade temp. it reads 98 or 99 which would be ok for some people but if your normal temp is lower than 98.6 then it means you do have a fever.

you can be sick without having a fever. a fever indicates an infection in the body. you can not feel sick at all and have a low fever, and end up taking antibiotics for an ear infection or etc. If you had the flu i do think you would have had a low grade temp, so that is unusual. some people have a bit higher or lower than average body temp at all times, so when you are sick it may take more or less to give you a fever that rates on a thermometer.

Kids run fevers more often than adults. Adults can be quite sick and still have no fever.
I run about 97 as normal temp, so 98.6 would be a fever for me.
"Normal" is hard to define. People just vary a lot, like some get cold easily while others in the room are warm!
Hope that helps you.
So if you feel bad and no fever, go to the doc!

It really isnt that unusual not to run a fever when you are sick. Alot of times if you just have a cold you wont run a fever. Most of the time when you have actual "influenza" you will run a fever, but the only way to know if you really have the flu is to have a culture done.

some people do not run fevers with viral infections and that is not abnormal for them. Some also have lower basal temps than others, so that 98.6 may be a fever for them. Whatever the case, count your blessings. Also, count on having a fever if ever you develop a severe bacterial infection.

If you feel warm, that is a fever.
Although most of the time you don't have a very high fever with ordinary colds. So maybe that's the only sicknesses you've really had in your life. Count yourself lucky I guess.
