Some cities consider it as discharging a firearm. If they dont get you on that theres a whole slew of things that they can charge you with. Public Endangerment, Harassment etc etc. A respectable paintball player knows the only appropriate place is on the field. and dont believe what sitcoms and commercials display as "paintball"

It may be an air gun but it is still a firearm capable of doing harm to another. That means no you can't. Unless you want a summons of course.
