Each person is different. Might I suggest you ponder on wear you are getting said tattoos. At my work place it is unacceptable to have huge tattoos on your arms, legs, etc. Also you might want to be real careful about putting a person name on your body. Further, really check out the tattoo parlor. Tattoos removal can be painful and costly. Good luck to you.

No matter what most people say it all depends on your pain tolerance. How well do you handle pain? The spine hurts the worst due to all the nerves close to the skin. Mostly they feel like a vibrating massager while being done and road rash when all done. Usually takes about 1-2 weeks to heal depending on how well you heal. Make sure you get a small tin of Tattoo Goo from your tattooist. It's all natural and is the best thing to use for a fresh tattoo. It doesn't dry out the tattoo and helps it heal faster.

Hope this helps and happy tattooing!!

I have nine tattoos and it will hurt, but the pain is DEFINITELY TOLERABLE. Sometimes it feels like a slight sting, other times like an annoying prick (imagine someone poking you with a flattened paperclip), other times it just tickles. I have tattoos ranging from my back or stomach to the foot. I have found that tattoos closer to the bone tend to hurt more, but the ones on the feet are generally overwith fairly quick. Besides, the pain is not constant, so you get a breather every time the tattoo artist stops to get more ink. I would suggest taking a friend to talk to you and keep you distracted.

It all depends on where you get it...I was thinking of getting one on my foot also and I heard that it hurts a lot cause it's right there on the bone. I have 2...one on my hip....which that one didn't hurt at all...kinda tickled actually at the same time it burned. It's more of an irritating feeling. And then I have one on my lower back....which I thought would hurt more being right on my spine but once I got use to the feeling it was ok....a burning feeling again. But don't worry about it....mind over matter!! Of course it will hurt cause it's needles going into your skin....but don't focus on it...have a friend go in with you to keep you company! It worked for me! Good luck!

Well I could say that they don't hurt or that it depends on your pain threshold. But everyone has already said that. So here is what I will say. Broken down into a basic process, all a tattoo gun does is basically cut your skin open in a pretty little design while injecting ink into your skin. So you have to decide for yourself if that is gonna cause you pain and if you can take it.

Yes, they REALLY hurt. Imagine what it feels like when you get a shot at the doctor's office. And then imagine what it would feel like if it was constant. Tattooing involves using a needle on the surface of your skin - it's constant. If you have a complicated design or one that involves lots of different colors that need to be filled in, it will hurt more and take more time to complete. In addition, it hurts more to have tattoos on bony areas like your ankle rather than fleshy parts like your tummy. The outside of the arm is okay, but if you're having it on the inside of your arm it will hurt like hell.

i have several tattoos..and i'll tell you the most painful one is the one i have on the inside of my foot.
here's the thing about tattoos...everyone is different....if you have a high tolerance for pain...you're good to go..if not...they're going to hurt... It feels a lil bit like a bad sunburn...also it depends on the area of the body that it is on..my tattoo artist has a cart on the wall, thats a pic of the body, and it's coded in red, yellow and green, being the most painful to the least painful.. I have a Lizard on my Breast and his tail goes around my nipples...., and it hurt like hell, but its something i really enjoy doing, so it's not that bad.
good luck and enjoy ur ink

I've got 3...my first one didn't hurt at all. I think it was the excitement of getting it that I didn't feel it. My second one hurt a little but only because I had it colored in dark. It's on my leg and my third one is on the back of my neck and I didn't even FEEL it. He was done before I even knew he started. It just depends on your tolerance of needles. Just make sure to keep it covered for a few hours and keep the antibiotic ointment on it for a couple of days.

generally yes, tattoos do hurt. the amount of pain does vary depending on where you get it and your pain threshold. just think of it this way...a tattoo is a group of needles piercing your skin somewhere around 1,000 times or more. I think you can figure out the rest.

It depends on your pain tolerance.

The arm wouldn't be painful. But your foot ummm ya maybe it would hurt.
