Looks like Manchester International is the choice for traveling to York, England. There is even a train service from the airport to York.
Hope this helps!

Shoreham in Sussex
It's got to be Shoreham in Sussex.
It's a little airport with a grass runway.
Most planes that come in are no bigger than 6 seaters.
Admittedly the plane has to taxi for quite a long time after it's landed if it's going to York - but it's the best airport.
You can get a lovely cup of tea there.

Leeds/Bradford Airport is probably the nearest otherwise Manchester Airport.
You would have to get a train or bus to York unless someone is meeting you with a car.

a pair of human beings have reported York and that feels like a reliable theory and as quickly as you're in that area of the international you may bypass to the previous coastal city, trip hotel and working fishing port of Whitby. that's available through utilising prepare through utilising technique of Middlesbrough. that's between the main acceptable coastal cities in England and up the coast there are some eye-catching villages which comprise Staithes and Robin Hoods Bay. In Whitby there are a number of of interior of sight craft shops. The Gosmont to Pickering Steam railway is a sprint way inland the area restored locomotives and rolling inventory clatter and puff their way in the approach the North York Moors.

In no particular order
- Durham / TeesValley airport........ requires train journey from Darlington via either GNER or TRANSPENNINE Express
- Manchester Airport....... direct rail link provided by TransPennine Express http://www.tpexpress.co.uk/
- LEEDS / BRADFORD Airport
Not sure about public transport arrangements........ probably a train that'll get you there, as well as the superb YORKSHIRE COASTLINER bus service that goes from Leeds to York then onto my hometown of Whitby. http://www.yorkshirecoastliner.co.uk/
- Newcastle Airport
Slightly further north than Durham-Teesvalley, but is also served by TransPennine Express from Newcastle - York http://www.tpexpress.co.uk/

If you're flying in from the US, you'd probably have to land at Heathrow or Gatwick Airport (near london) and switch planes...
