I suspect the oil agenda is Cheney's. To have an agenda assumes some degree of rationality, which further suggests a base-level capacity to see the world, and adjust your actions accordingly. That implies a degree of sanity.

George is not a well man. He has little grasp of reality. There is an essential sadness about him, a small person in a large situation that surpasses both his ability to comprehend it or to constructively interact with it or to exercise any control over events.

I feel sorry for him.

I wouldn't call it "His personal" oil agenda. You like most of the world, should try studying a little before opening your mouths. Think back to the Reagan years. Oil tankers were being shot at, the world's economy runs on oil. Reagan recognized this and reflagged the tankers and assigned U.S. Navy escorts to get them out of the gulf region. A short time later Saddam invaded Kuwait. Are you following me thus far? Haven't lost you yet have I? I know this is pretty complicated stuff -- coming from a conservative and all.
So, Kuwait was invaded for its oil and sea port. Coalition forces backed by the U.N. repelled the attack and reinstated the monarchy. A cease fire was agreed to. In the next decade, Saddam chose to break the agreement in at least 17 different sanctions. The U.N. was called upon to uphold the "or else" clause part of the cease fire agreement, but the U.N. members, namely France, Germany and Russia, were too busy accepting bribes and refused to give strength to the U.N.. Diplomacy went on for months to no avail. I know, I know, this is where we deviate from your little paradgm. But these are indeed the facts. Coalition forces were again called upon to go in and uphold the U.N.'s sanctions.
So, is this about oil? You bet! It's about the world economy. Is it an oil agenda? You bet! without oil, you wouldn't have any clothes, a bike to ride or food to eat. Sadly, the French, Germans and Russians have never been called to task on this. I suspect there are just too many short sighted, small minded, can't remember anything passed a minute ago liberals who are too caught up in what the spin doctors are putting out to rationally think much of anything through to it's full and rightful conclusion.

Obviously, but it's more than that. Mark my words, Iran is next. Look at a political map of all the places America has been in combat with, just in the last 20 years. Lots of oil rich places, yes? It goes far back, not just Bush Jr.

President Bush is not using me or any of my fellow soldiers for oil. Read a book and learn something before you post ignorant ramblings such as this one.

Do you consider oil as a national security issue?

Don't you?

Our 3 major oil companies lose their Iraqi oil contracts to Russia and France, then we invade a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 or terrorism! We haven't invaded the Arabs yet have we? Were there any Iraqi's on those planes? Is Osama bin Laden an Iraqi?

Now we are getting oil and Russia and France aren't! Think that is coincidental?
