The only honest answer is faith. Everyone has faith in something whether it be the Bible or a baseball. Abstract questions such as this one are always a mystery to answer and no matter how many answers you get one will never be right. But they usually fall back to faith!

Read the new testament and ask that again :-D

The bible talks to your soul. It is the only God inspired word we know of. It is also a history book. Very interesting.
Read it and you will see.
There are over 5000 cataloged ancient finding of the bible. All the same, no changes. Look at the dead sea scrolls. Even ancient texts in other languages are the same. Isn't that amazing?
The Koran does not agree with the dead sea scrolls that were written long before Mohammad. Mohammad claimed that Abraham was told to kill his son Ishmael but the bible and the dead sea scrolls say Isaac which is the truth. Islam is from the descendants of Ishmael and the Jews descendants of Isaac. Satan likes to copy cat God and his works with a twist.

Your question reveals a lack of experience with the Holy Books. The Bible alone is full of such differing material, different in style, content, voice, composition. The Old Testament was around for thousands of years before the events of the New Testament even occured. To suggest that one person wrote just this one Holy Book makes no sense. Any literary scholar or high school english teacher could tell you that. And I mean to offense either.

They were actually written by a number of bored people on a series of rainy days. But actually, it would seem that there are two possibilities. One is that someone wanted to put morality in an easily accessible form, and wrote them in such a way that people would follow the rules for fear of punishment. The other is that the writers actually believed they heard the voice of God. In other words, schizophrenia.

why do you mock what you can not comprehend? I do not mock the existance of molecules because I can't see them or do not have the tools that science uses. You lack the tools and observations that can only be found in faith. I have them. I am sorry, but, if you tried to understand them and gave them a small amount of credit, then maybe you would find an answer.

Ever had a feeling deep in your heart that told you "Yeah, this is right"? That is how the Holy Spirit talks to believers. The Spirit tries to talk to everyone. Some don't want to listen to what the Spirit of God has to say. They would rather be influenced by Satan.

A the time span that they cover many scripture books are historical accounts.

Because the bible is a collection of literary works that span a vast time frame in human history. This has been scientifically proven.

There is no way anyone could know for sure who wrote that book I suppose that's why Christianity is called faith.

Personally I always thought something like that would have been kind of funny:)
