Take chicken & discard innards & rinse well. Open a can of beer & drink or discard about 1/3 of the can. Place oven rack on lowest point & preheat to 350 degrees. Sprinkle chicken with dry seasoning, then place beer can up chicken's butt. Set in baking pan ( with at least 1/2 inch sides ) & bake til done. If top starts to brown too quickly, cover with foil......Juices will run clear when done.....Enjoy!!

Take a can of beer(take off top of can & get rid of 1/2)--sit it in a foil pan big enough to cover the edges of your chicken.Mix garlic powder, season salt, and onion powder in to the beer.Wash your chicken and remove any extra fat from it.Now sit the chicken up on top of the can, the can will be up where the package of giblets come.It will look like it is looking at you without a head.Cook on 300 for about 30 mins.then check the beer to see how much is left.Turn oven to 350 bake until all beer is gone. This is a moist bird when cooked this way...

I think that it is the same as on the grill when we do it it is 1/2 can of beer :& what ever spices you like on the chicken & the 1/2 can of beer in the container it goes in then put the chicken on top of the can the put 1/2 of potato or 1/2 of an onion in the hole on top of the chicken so the inside will steam. cook about1 hour -1.5 hours @ 350 degrees that should do it

I've done it in an oven before. I simply modify it slightly - using the same roaster thingie that holds the beer can I put the whole thing into a glass cooking pan (big enough to hold the juices) and set it to about 400 for 45 minutes or so.
Works fine!

Beer-Can Chicken:
If you need more time to set up your serving table, keep the chicken warm in the oven at about 200° while you finish up.
3 (2- to 3-pound) whole chickens
4 (12-ounce) cans beer, divided
1 (8-ounce) bottle Italian dressing
1/4 to 1/3 cup fajita seasoning
Place each chicken in a large zip-top plastic bag.
Combine 1 can beer, Italian dressing, and fajita seasoning; pour evenly over chickens. Seal bags, and chill 8 hours, turning occasionally.
Remove chicken from marinade, discarding marinade.
Open remaining 3 cans beer. Place each chicken upright onto a beer can, fitting into cavity. Pull legs forward to form a tripod, allowing chickens to stand upright.
Prepare a hot fire by piling charcoal on one side of grill, leaving other side empty. (For gas grills, only light one side.) Place food grate on grill. Place chickens upright on unlit side of grill. Grill, covered with grill lid, 1 hour and 20 minutes or until golden and a meat thermometer registers 170°. Let stand 10 minutes or until thermometer reaches 180°. Carefully remove cans, and cut chickens into quarters.
Marinated Flank Steak: Omit 3 cans beer. Substitute 3 (2-pound) flank steaks for chicken, and marinate as directed. Remove steak from marinade, discarding marinade. Place steak on lit side of grill. Grill, covered with lid, over medium-high heat (350° to 400°) about 20 minutes or to desired degree of doneness. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing.
Yield: Makes 12 servings
