I think she is about 7 months old. We are in week number 3 of the heat. The bleeding has dimished tremendously; she isn't wearing her puppy pads right now (she takes it off anyway; can't say that I blame her on that one). I noticed her nipples getting bigger about a week before she started bleeding.

So funny to read your question! I have a Pit bull too, and she´s same age and also in her first heat... And also taking her puppy pads off... And licking it... YAKK!! But i asked the vet, and she said that they will go back to the same size as before, slightly bigger, but not as big as they are now! And to all of you out there thinking "the world doesn't´t need anymore Pit bull´s" I must tell you that it´s the best dog in the world, if you discipline it well!! But yes, I will have her fixed!!... The size of her nipples will go back to normal after the heat cycle is over. As soon as it is please take her to the vet and have her spayed! Why have you not done this yet. Please do not tell me you are planning on breeding her. There are to many unwanted Pits, Rott and others in the pound right now! Take a walk threw and see for yourself. PLease be a responsible pet own and her her fixed as soon as possible! She will also be much healthier after being fixed

They will go down some, but never look like they did before she went in heat. They generally change or get bigger with each heat, and stay even bigger after having nursed pups. & of course, are more prone to getting mammary cancer later, increasing her chance with each heat. It is healthier (& keeps her better looking) to have her spayed.

Some dogs do, some dogs dont. She's old enough to be fixed, so once she's done, go ahead and move forward with it. With estimates as high as 1,000,000 pits being killed a year in shelters, there is no need to anyone other than Dog Show people to be breeding them. Good luck to you and your pup. : )

Some people say they wont put i know they will it takes about 2 weeks and she will loose all of her water weight and she will go back to the way she was some people say they wont unless you fix her but they will

No, they will not got back to the size they were prior to this. However, they will not be as swollen, so they will decrease in size somewhat. I know it isn't a pretty sight, this happened to my dog also.

They will go down to pretty much their original size, but probably not as small as that. Definitley consider spaying her as soon as you can.

yeah they will go back to normal (if dogs are used for just breeding then they get very droopy and they wont go back to normal) but if they are sore id take her to the vet good luck
