I agree with the first poster. You have a lot of research to do before you consider breeding. Check out this link on the guidelines for being a responsible and ethical breeder.

http://www.akc.org/breeders/resp_breeding/Articles/breeder.cfm

Following these is important and it takes years to gain the proper knowledge to breed ethically and responsibly. Anything less is nothing more than back yard breeding.

Your dog will be in "standing heat" at day number 10. Why do you want to breed her? The "old wives tale" of she should have one litter is WRONG! Females that are bred (even 1 litter) have a greater chance of having breast cancer. An unspayed female has a GREAT chance of having ovarian or uteran cancer.

You will never make big bucks selling puppies, and if you do, you are nothing more than a back yard breeder or the starting of a puppy mill.

Breeding dogs takes years of research. Have you done your homework yet? Did you research the potential mate for you dog? Are you breeding designer dogs (don't get me started on this subject)! Do you have homes already for your puppies?

If you can't answer yes to all these questions (and more), then don't breed your dog.

in case you do no longer understand the right terminology, why are you breeding? in case you haven't any longer have been given a breeding mentor, why are you breeding? loss of expertise in suited terminology shows ordinary loss of expertise of the subject: this would finally kill you canines. If she is having an prolonged than conventional warmth cycle (you may understand; she could have been by way of a minimum of three or 4 via now so which you ought to evaluate) then call your vet. oftentimes warmth cycles are the comparable for all canines - 3 weeks. although you could miscalculate if she would not bleed (in any respect OR heavily) for the duration of the 1st week. playstation - it somewhat is "warmth cycle", no longer "heating cycle". it somewhat is "tried to reproduce" no longer "tried making her pregnant." PPS - in basic terms out of interest... ought to you answer those questions? What are the indications that there are issues arising? while could a c-section be carried out? what's conventional inertia and the outcomes? what's secondary inertia and the outcomes? what's oxytocin? what's a breach beginning, how usually does it happen, and what are the themes which could effect? What are the outcomes for a puppy born out of the sac? How do you determine that each placenta is accounted for, and what do you do in the event that they do no longer seem to be? What could be completed with the placenta? What are the indications that the doggies are in subject? what's mastisis and how is it taken care of? What do you do if the dam's milk would not are available? How do you bottle feed a domestic dog, and what do you employ? How do you tube feed a domestic dog? **FYI that's in basic terms some million/4 of what you may understand....

Another back Yard BREEDER!!!! Do you know that people like you that do not know the first thing about breeding their animals are the one who have given breeds a bad name! You are called a back yard breeder! You probley do not know the first thing about what the standards are for breeding you probley do not have approval from the vet saying that you dog is happy and healthy enough to breed. And your dog in probably young!

Sorry but back yard breeders should not be allowed to own pets! People that breed their animals are the one who fill up the shelters! Take a walk around the local animal shelter and see how many unwanted animals are int her shelter and maybe this will change your mind! Why are you so bent on breeding your dog anyway! Please take her to the vet and get HER FIXED!!!

First let me just say that you should research what you are about to do in depth and be prepared for the worst. If your dog whelps sick pups you could be looking at huge vet bills. If you don't care for them properly it could be considered a crime.

So I've always been told that 10-12 days into her heat is the optimal time. Wait two days then do it again. Your dog should be fully matured before breeding. Make sure you know the full background of the male, possible inbreeding, genetic conditions, temperament etc...

If you do not know that answer you do not need to be breeding dogs. Are you just wanting to breed to be breeding (if so sham on you), are you showing dogs. Have your dogs fixed and leave the breeding to the ones that know what they are doing.

Usually, you can breed during the 2nd week. Most breeds spend approximately 1 week coming in, one week in, and one week going out. But you should always keep your female under observation during this time of breeding. For the health of both male and female dogs. Then when you know that they have bred you should be able to count about 63 days, give or take 3 days.

Animals are dying in shelters, and you're worried about when to put your dog through the stress and pain of being bred? If you don't even know how to breed your dog, you are nowhere near experienced enough to be doing it in the first place.

Breed her right after she comes home from the vet after being spayed.

The world does NOT need another breeder that doesn't know the answer to simple questions about breeding!
