I have not had one but I have seen two scars. The first was very small. The lady had some extra skin from stretch marks due to pregnancy that she wanted removed. They made the incision around her bikini line. You could not see it when she wore a two piece.
The second was from a huge weight loss due to gastric bypass surgery. The scar ran from her lower back all the way around above the bikini line. It didn't look back but you sure could not wear a bikini after that one.
That is all I know. Sorry.

my mom had one earlier this year. She has a scar from hip to hip. it dips tho bit like a big smile altho she a had a good surgeon so it does look terribly obvious. You can still wear a bikinin n that but apart from that she was in agony for a good 4weeks coz it cuts throught the muscle. She couldnt sit up and to cough or laugh hurt. I think she thouight it would work miracles too. She lost weight in the begining but its crept back on! I would think hard before having one done!

Tummy tuck surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

typically the incision is made in the "bikini fold" of the lower abdomen and so is not noticeable when you are dressed, and fades over time into the natural crease that exists.
