Because it was written in the Torah, which was written by Moshe (Moses) who was the leader of Israel in the Exodus, and the recipient of the 10 commandments. For us Christians, the Torah is part of the Old Testament, which is part of the Bible, which is the inspired word of the True and Living God; the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who is the Saviour of the world. Jesus Christ recognized the validity of the story of Noah and the Ark, and stated that it is a type (essentially a prophetic event) of the end of the world marked by His return. You either have to accept the entire Bible as the inspired word of God, or deny the whole thing, because all parts are integrated with the whole volume. You can't take a piece of this, and a piece of that, and then throw the rest away. It is all in the book by God's will. Really, I don't see what is so much more spectacular about the story of the flood, than say, the Red Sea crossing, or the walls of Jericho falling, or the virgin birth, or ascension of Christ Himself. It is a book filled with the miraculous works of God, and without faith in Him that He is able to reach across the little natural laws that hold us in place, you truly cannot accept anything that it says. That's kind of the whole point, if you know what I mean.
But I think it is really funny, how some people in this forum want to learn about Biblical prophecy so that they can make a mockery of it (while they yet know nothing about it) and this in itself is a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy.
II Peter 3:3-7 says, "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of His coming? For since the (Jewish) fathers fell asleep (died), all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. FOR THIS THEY ARE WILLINGLY IGNORANT OF, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: WHEREBY THE WORLD THAT THEN WAS, BEING OVERFLOWED WITH WATER, PERISHED: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men."
In other words, there will be people living in these last days that make a mockery of the story of the flood, not knowing that a similar destruction is coming soon to take away the ungodly yet again.

Because it is a frequent token of faith for many evangelical fundamentalists. People are expected to believe everything the Bible says in it, so they believe it...regardless of physical evidence to the contrary.
There have been many people claiming to have found the Ark of Noah, but the "finds" have all been in different locations and have been of wildly different sizes. Everything from mistaken geological formations(satellite photos) to outright hoaxes(Dobson) to delusions (Ron Wyatt).
No trace of a worldwide flood exists, no trace of an ark, and no explanation beyond godmagic of how Noah managed to gather, feed, sustain, and spread the animals out across the world again. It's a myth. Get over it.

Are you sure? Every major culture from India to the Inca had some story about a great flood. As for science, how about a little anthropological evidence. All the ethnic groups in the world mixed where? Turkey. Where did the ark land and from what point did all ethnic groups originate (Biblically speaking)? Turkey. Interpretation of the evidence is everything.

Have ya noticed evidence of flooding in Dinosaur Bones all over the world with Human bones mixed in?
That's proof of Noah's fllod right there.
By the way the Leviathan, Monsters and Dragons mentioned in the Bible are probably the same as the Dinosaurs not to mention the Chinese drawings of Dragons match estimations of what some of the Dinosaurs might have looked like.

I believe what the Bible says about Noahs Ark. And back then there weren't as many animals as there are now, so that part is possible. As for the rest of the story, I don't see why it wasn't possible. God warned Noah of what He was going to do and for Noah to build this huge ark.And then God caused the great flood!

technology has never shown the tale of Noah's Ark to be fake, or maybe authentic for that remember. The Emporer, for the time of the time of the start of Jesus, taxed the "international". Understandably, he became taxing the Roman "international", no longer the entire inhabited planet. technology has chanced on information of an honestly flood in the section certain in the bible, and is now attempting to instruct the quantity of this flood. it somewhat is authentic that faith performs a important function in the perception of this actual tale, even nonetheless it additionally brings appropriate to the questions as to what barriers one believes his "God" to have. technology has proved many human beings and accurances to be authentic. permit our faith no longer waiver because of the fact the scientific thoughts of mere mortals can no longer answer each and every question the bible could pose. enable us to additionally remember, the important area of the bible to be remembered is that of getting to grasp the thank you to handle one yet another as clever human beings. regardless of if the tale of Noah's Ark became chanced directly to be fake, does that provide me license to handle my fellow guy sub-human?

I am a Christian. I know the story was written during the Israel's captivity in Babylon but I also know that it is based on truth, on some cataclysmic event that really happened because there are records of ancient flood stories from almost every ancient civilization. Whether it really happened or not doesn't matter to me. It has a great symbolic message for us today. That's all that is important to me. Jesus's new covenant is the ark, the sea is evil in the world and He keeps us safe from them when we are in Him.

well if you think that Noah and the Ark are ridiculous, and that they are not proven.
then if you believe in Santa that is not proven that he excites
however in the Bible it tells the story and the place where the Ark landed after the flood. And I know that the Mt. that is stated in the Bible is still around to this day and is known well.

You are very wrong. There is a lot of evidence as well as stories and traditions in many cultures that speak of a world wide flood. You are just making random statements.
