I have a quick and easy recipe for a simple pasta salad. Get a package of your shell macoroni or rigitoni pasta and boil till tender. Don't over boil because it can get mushy and limpy. Then drain and rinse the pasta with cold water and let drain. After it's been drained well, place in a bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste and if you want to add alittle pickle relish. this is optional. Add a least a cup of Miracle Whip. Now you can use Mayo but I prefer Miracle Whip myself. Stir in both ingredients then if you wish you can add alittle yellow or honey mustard and herb spices according to your taste. Now sometimes i will add black or green olives to mine and if I want something totally different instead of using Miracle Whip or Mayo I get some italian sauce and omit the relish of course but add your herb spices and olives and if you want add a few tomato cubes. It's fast and simple and really refreshing. Enjoy.Just remember that if you use alot of macoroni or shells you will need to add the ingredients according to your taste and I even add alittle sugar in mine to add sweetness. Also if you like Italian salad dressing it's also good in this recipe. Just omit the relish and Mayo and/or Miracle Whip.

The easiest and fastest way is to cook a pound of elbows or other such pasta, drain it and divide it into portions you wish to eat/serve on later occasions, reserving enough for the present meal, freezing the portions in separate plastic bags or other containers. Later, you can thaw a portion of the cooked pasta in the micro wave oven (usually takes one or two minutes) and add anything you like to it. That way you've got QUICK pasta salad without having to cook the pasta every time you want it.
The additions could be nearly endless...leftover meats, tuna, fruit--canned or fresh, any vegetable you like, cooked or raw...etc..
In other words, use the pasta as your base for whatever suits your mood of the moment.
Dressings could be ready-made, mayo, yogurt, even a little jam mixed with a little fruit juice or water makes a nice addition. GO FOR IT with gusto!!!

I usually take cooked ham and cube it, 2-4 boiled eggs, diced 1 medium onion, diced 1 can of peas 1/2 cup of shredded swiss cheese rotini pasta salt, pepper I boil the pasta according to instructions, drain them, and pour them in a bowl. I throw the shredded cheese into the warm pasta and stir that to make sure the cheese coats the pasta evenly. I add the onion, finely diced, the diced eggs, and the diced ham,and a can of peas, season with salt and pepper and mix it all well. Then I add 1 tablespoon balsamic or herb vinegar and 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil and mix everything until coated with the vinegar+oil dressing. Usually I refrigerate this overnight.
