What is the best way to deal with a pathological liar who embellishes their own stories in the way they believe them to be?

They are unsure of themselves and also they want an audience. Give them a wide berth!

Ye Gods woman! RUN! In the complete opposite direction run like the WIND. Pathological liars are the WORST. No matter what happens, they're going to lie, and at some point, that lie is going to come back round and bite YOU in the butt...just for being too close...not only that, but you're probably in for a rude shock when you learn that people assume that YOU'RE a liar too just because you hang out with her...the weird thing about these people is that they actually BELIEVE what they're saying, so if you try to convince them otherwise, you're just going to end up in a fight, and no one needs that stress. So just leave. Now. And when you later hear the story about how they "threw your sorry butt out" after a long and prolonged battle that involves sorcery, ninjas and three wise men...just smile, shake your head and keep it moving in the opposite direction.

Doesn't matter what they're saying, just say that. It's more fun if they're on the phone. You can let them do the talking for minutes on end, hold the phone away, repeat the above, then move it away from your ear.

I used to have the same with a girl I know ! She absolutley convinced herself with her own lies.
Its best to not keep seeing em in the end cos it just gets so frustrating when you just know theyre lying and they wont admit the truth no-matter how much you try to get em too, so why wind yourself up just by being around em !!
Get rid !!

Ignore the lies. Don't give the person any reason to think you believe them.
Just listen to the tall tale then walk away.
