How can we treat our son (19yr old who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia a year ago and was treated and hospitalized at the hospital for 2 months and still under treatment and medical care and supervision) with our attitude and behavior as parents? He is so uninterested to do anything and he is an artist as well.

You have to be understanding, patient, and let him be himself. He's an artist?Let him express himself that way. You will have more success if you dont try to force him to communicate a certain way. Introduce him to new activities, maybe he will find a new activity

You need to keep encouraging him. You said he likes art; really encourage him and say good job and things like that. That can really boost his self confidence, and although he may be hearing negative thoughts in his head, hearing positive praises from you will uplift him. You mentioned that he was hospitalized, and just the fact that you are seeking professional help for him is great. Is he on medication, and in counseling? Those are a necessity for someone with schizophrenia. Just remember to say encouraging words, and say I love you often. And keep him in counseling! I have a friend who is schitzophrenic. She keeps a little journal and writes about the thoughts and her feelings, and through that she works through it. It's also a good thing to show to counselors and psycologists do that they know how he is doing. Best of luck!

Take an active role in his care and supervision. Understand that schizophrenia is a terrible disorder. Little more can be done other than to see that he remains safe.
