my friends that are together did it and when we go to a movie its kinda uncomfortable to put my arm around my girlfriend is that a good alturnative

It is not weird to hold hands at the theater with your girlfriend. It is actually expected. It's probably not the best idea on a first date, just like kissing. But after a movie or two or if you really know the person.....go for it! Holding hands is subtle and won't make her feel threatened. I didn't put my arm around my girlfriend until after we saw about four movies. I was really nervous, but I could tell that she was too. It is better to fit in by holding her hand, than sit out the whole thing all together.

there's no way you can hug in a theater it's very uncomfortable and holding hands is sweet but it's kind of uncomfortable too...just try sitting close it's nothing wrong with that....the weird thing about this answer is not the holding hand ordeal it's not buying her some popcorn for the movie is weird!!

I love to have my hand held, I would rather that than the arm around me. Holding hands is just so much more comfortable. And it lets you feel connected during the movie since you are not suppose to talk!

Holding hands is fine to do at the movies. It's much better than putting your arm someone.

It depends on the comfort level you have with each other, in my opinion. Holding hands on the way TO the theater is cool.
Putting your arm around her is an equally good way to show affection, though.
If you mean holding hands while sitting IN the theater though, I'd say that is kinda wack and a bit too mushy.

I admit I'm a weird old man but I hold the hand of my wife of over 27 years at the theatre.

No my husband and I hold hands all the time whether we are in the car driving somewhere, sitting watching TV even when you go to sleep at night nothing we rid about it. It's just a simply way to show your feelings

It's not weird to hold hands. You hold hands when you are walking right? So what's the difference when you are sitting down. Just have fun and be good to your significant other.

well holding hands during a movie is nice. My husband and I do it all the time. I don't see why she wouldn't mind you holding her hand instead of putting your arm around her.

no its cute i wish my bf did that with me . if ur not ok with it just dont do it thats all if u dont think u can just do somthing else like playing in the woods i do that with my bf and we hav a blast thats were we started holding hands but he hasnt done it since but it will work better 4 u than me so i hope it works
