When a cat is suffering from indigestion or nausea, it eats grass to empty its stomach or to serve as a laxative. If the cat does this repeatedly it should be examined to find out the cause. Your cat may have gastritis which is an inflammation of the stomach characterized by nausea and vomiting. Sometimes overeating or eating the wrong foods will cause this condition. Along with the grass eating, the cat is very thirsty and demands water to soothe its inflamed stomach.

LOL! No he's not anorexic. This is a normal thing that cats love. It is full of water and a soothing agent for there stomaches, But there is no proof to why they really do this. It poses no harm to the cat, naturally cats in the wild eat grass. I have 8 and the ones I let out on the grass to eat sometimes throw up and sometimes they don't. I believe that they do this to help upchuck there hairballs.

Ah, the mysteries of the Cat... There is a theory that whatever is in grass acts like an antacid or tonic for the digestive tract of meat eating mammals. I think they digest what they need, then upchuck the rest. Nearly every cat I've had in my 40 some odd years has done this. You can even purchase "inside grass" for cats to nibble on. If he's otherwise acting normally, I'd not worry about it.

cats love grass but if they eat to much it makes them sick. kinda like when you eat to much chocolate and throw up. if you get cat food with a hair ball remedy in it it will help keep it down

The cat is probably trying to purge itself. Maybe the food is unsettling its stomach and it wants to get it out of its system. Just a thought.
