Christians are at a different level of maturity. People will goad Christians into an argument & to mock. Baby Christians are more susceptable to this trap. When Christian maturity happens, Christian learns to obey God rather than try to defend themself or Gods truth or other Christians. Because it hurts when we try to defend by our flesh.
It is written that God will not be mocked, we reap what we sow.

I have found that there are very few who actually follow what Jesus himself said. Instead they have replaced him with Paul (some even going so far as to say it doesn't make any difference if it's Paul stating things and not Jesus) Or they follow a traditional doctrine of their fave church. Rarely do I find one that is serious about their proclaimed Spirituality - instead they seem bent on the more materialistic side to it.... using a book in order to put others in their place as they see fit.
There is no discussion with those types of people. And in all honesty, they do enough mocking of the religion themselves... making it damn near empty of any substance.... they sure don't need us Non's help in doing so.

Jesus had the ability to look into the hearts of men and women. We can only look to the outside, and that can make a lot of difference.Although in Matthew 18:15-17 the church is given the authority to prove certain situations and deal accordingly. The Apostle Paul showed great patience with the woman who was a soothsayer at Macedonia before rebuking that spirit with in her, Acts 16:16-18.It may sound here like I am in disagreement with you but I am not. There are those that are heretics by choice and those who are just plain ignorant. This takes a spirit of discernment to judge correctly,1 Cor. 12:10.Jesus looked over Jerusalem and although they had killed the prophets, and stoned those that had been sent to them, still He would have gathered them like a hen gathers her chicks, (but they would not.) Matthew23:37.Move as the Spirit moves you but do it in love. God Bless!

I'm sure Jesus was better at determining who was mocking and who seriously needed to hear The Truth. Christians are to tell of God's Word and then move on.
God Bless you and have a safe and Happy New Year.

Yeah, well here's a little something people don't realize. Jesus wasn't a Christian. He was a Jew with a new take on his spiritual practice. Christianity was born when Paul needed to save the new spiritual belief and then decided to convert gentiles...or non-Jews. And, like the Romans that embraced Christianity, they've been trying to trample over everyone else's belief systems ever since (hmmm, much like a certain country we live in). An oppressors of any faith rarely lets the oppressed get a word in edge-wise.

I didn't realise Jesus was such a fascist. So he just exposed them and walked on eh? Let the heathens burn in hell was his attitude was it? How many chances did people get to believe him? Just the one before he exposed them and walked on?
Perhaps that explans why huge areas of the World are not Christian. Jesus clearly doesn't care about the people that live there, just like he had no time for the mockers.

I understand it fully.
When having a witnessing encounter you must know when to stop. That point is usually when a person hasn't been humbled by God's law and the consequences of breaking it. If they are not concerned about their eternal salvation after having heard this I thank them for their time and move on. Its hard because you want everyone to be saved but as you said we don't want to open up an opportunity for them to trample the blood of Christ underfoot.

not really sure...maybe its becuz believers want them (non believers) to have what they have.....eternal life through Jesus christ....so that they will go to heaven. I dnt think that Christians try to push the issue on purpose..just doing what the Bible says...go n2 ALL the world and preach the gospel..even if it means repeating it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and oaver and over and over....u get the point, and then maybe after they are told so many times the unbelievers will check into what the believer is talking bout. then you check it out for yourself to see if it is real or not. thats what happened to me...and knw i found the TRUTH and i THANK GOD that people kept bugging me about JESUS CHRIST, cuz nw i hv what the Belivers b4 me were preaching of , and it was the most important and rewarding thing that ever happened to me...thanks to all of you who ddnt gv up on me.
I am not above or better than any other person on the face of the earth...but what I hv in Jesus makes me diff. , in that i knw w/o a shadow of a doubt in where i m going when i die, and THAT in its self makes me soooooooo at peace with life and not fearing death

why is someone who doesn't believe BY DEFAULT be in a state of "mocking"? I'm not mocking, I just don't believe. Outrageous claims require outrageous proof. If someone came up and told you that they knew someone who could turn water into wine, wouldn't you want to find that person so that you could look at them and say "prove it"?
The same people you are talking to though will tell you that they are commanded to "spread God's word"....the Bible can be interpreted to justify many things.

I think we do the same. If you mock Jesus to me, I'll just call you daffy and go on to the same question. I would like to know how you would respond to someone mocking someone you love.
