Part funny, part worrying. But most unfortunately, untrue. Recent times 'we' mixed politics and religion, Israel was founded, the US waged war on Afghanistan, the Persian president doubted the Holocaust ever happened.. And there's more and more about religion and politics in the papers every day.
Politics could be separated from religion. Marx for example gave that a go, but I don't think it'll honestly ever happen. Getting burnt at the stake is the least anyone could expect for being a libertine these days.

Well, in a very general sense, it is true. The sad part of it is though, that when the "Church" was burning people at the stake, it was usually their own people they burned.

So now God and any trace of Him in our history is being censored from the public square. The ten commandments, all of it being taken away. Then why do we wonder why there is such corruption , crime , killing in America now. When I grew up it wasn't this way. God is a restrainer of our evil hearts , if we let Him. But He is a gentleman and will not force His way into our lives. It is because have such strong Christian roots that freedom is in our country for people to worship as they may. Women are liberated wherever the good news of Jesus is allowed. Just look at the bondage of women in Moslem countries !

It's a slogan and it isn't true...but so what?
Religion is inherently a part of politics even if we try to deny it. Any politician who "tries to help the poor" or "do the right thing" or who wants to be "honest", etc. is simply repeating things that most respectable religions say we should do in the first place.
You don't have to say "God, God, God, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus" to be religious.

In our country, it is almost law that the two be considered hand in hand. It is very well known that you have to appeal to the christian vote, if you want to go anywhere. But, isn't that a sign that the majority of people are believers or consider themselves to be?
And, you call them all uneducated idiots
hmmmm
