Most of the time the person doesnt know that his breath smells bad. I had that problem for several years and when my hubby told me I was a little embarassed, but very thankful that he told me. I started working on improving it right away. He tells me now that the odor is gone. It is said that Bad Breath is coming from your intestines up thru your throat into your mouth. I didnt believe that was so. So I focused on cleaning my teeth and gums better. It didnt help much. But month later, I gave myself a good internal cleaning by taking some Epsom Salt and water. Well..suddenly the Bad Breath disappeared!!! So the odor really is coming from the guts.
Buy a good book about getting rid of Bad Breath or find the information online, print it all out and make a folder for him. Give it to him privately after a nice dinner date or movies. Try to pick a near perfect time to tell him so he wont be to embarassed. Sit close up, not far away, when you break the news so he will know you care about him. In fact, ask him has he ever notice that your breath smells bad. That would make a good starting point, dont you think?

Since dating is only the beginning of a relationship I would have to end it before it really got started. Bad breath normally comes from poor dental hygiene. Do you want to be known as Mr. or Mrs. Yuk Mouth? To be fair, there are sometimes other less obvious reasons for bad breath. I believe we owe it to someone we have been dating for awhile to encourage them to get it checked out. Be honest and let them know it's a turn off. If they want the relationship to go somewhere they will fix it.

That's diguisting. But if you're dating someone with bad breath, take a pack of winter fresh gum or something with you , eat a piece and gradually offer him one. Or buy a pack of gum for your breath , that's like a new flavor, and ask him to try it and what he thinks of it.

Omg, I have this same problem - I have a co-worker whom I get along with really well.. But when she smokes (YIKES!!) I stay away and cannot find the courage to tell her so. I feel so wretched inside when the smell emerges (I am cringing at the thought of it) but still I don't have the heart to tell her. =(

Get over it--Mints, mints, mints--If this person is great, then bad breath is not a disaster--Just have minty gum or a tin of mints on you all on time and chew or eat them frequently and always offer them some....

It's gross. I will just tell them "go brush your teeth". It might hurt their feelings but if they want to kiss me, they just go right in the bathroom and start brushing.
