Eat three simple meals a day the last one before 9pm. substitute breads,and soda's for fruits, nuts, grains,...and vegetables. Try to stay off as much meat as you can also.

While there may be many temporary ways to lose weight fast (low fat, low carb, low cal etc.), the only way to lose weight and keep it off is to make small dietary and lifestyle changes that you can keep up for the long term.

Slowly eliminate junk food, soda, and foods high in sugar and saturated fat. Be gentle with yourself. Eat some more fruit and vegetables here and there. Choose fish, increase your intake of whole grains. Try cutting out red meat. All the little small changes add up, but they are useless if you can't keep it up.
Walk, even if it is for only 15 minutes a day. You can slowly increase it as you like.
There are so many fads out there, but it really is as simple as exercise and building a healthy diet.

I don't want to sound like a jerk, but only lifestyle changes work over the long run. Fad diets trim you down, but you can't stay on them for to long. Then you are back where you were, often times even fatter. All my friends who have lost alot of weight started with portion control and calorie counting. Then they slowly started exercising and building up a tolerance for it. Start slow, or else you'll burn out like everybody else has.
