Basically I've just got a new laptop for Xmas, I've set it all up it's had all windows downloads! and i downloaded some videos but there's no picture just sound is like your just listening to music with them shape things....do i need to install something..etc please help!

Media player doesn't support some files, SO YOU NEED DIVEX.
go here. i had the same problem, after downloading this, it'll work. BUT BE SURE TO ONLY DOWNLOAD DIVX CODEC, you could unselect the other programs that it comes with it while installing it.

You might need some video codecs. Google for something that'll help you find out what codec you need for your video (I've used something called GSpot that came as part of the KLite codec pack).

i would recommend you download the K Lite codec pack and install it, hopefully that will sort out your problem

I suggest you have your Mute button pressed down. Read the manual and press OFF on the mute button.
Sometimes the simples answers are the best.
