ok I am a massage theripist that has tattoos. If your tattoo is not healed they will not massage that area, not big deal. you can still do your training and still get massages. Your tattoo will take approx. three weeks to heal, even after the scabs fall off you may or may not bleed some color from the area. you have just ripped about three layers of skin from you self you need to wait untill those layers grow back for your tat to be healed. you will know because the area won't look glossy. you can't rush the healing process sweetie your body does what it can do when it can do it.

regular lotion is a bad thing on fresh tatts. you need some water based gel type lotion with lots of Vitaamin E. the more vit. e the faster it will heal. scabbing is normal with lots of shading. DON'T PICK AT IT! the healing should take about three weeks until it's not tender at all, but the skin will continue to heal and regenerate for a total of 8-11 weeks.

1.You don't want to put lotion of any kind on a fresh new tattoo.
2. Go to your tattoo artist and buy a can of Tattoo Goo and use that instead.
3. Tattoos usually take 1-2 weeks to heal properly depending on how well you heal.
If you use the Tattoo Goo it heals faster and better. It comes in a little tin at your tattoo parlor. It's all natural and won't clog your pores.
Hope this helps and happy tattooing!
add: If your tattoo needs a touchup, it wasn't done right and you need a new tattooist!

I got a new one on Saturday (my 3rd) and it is pretty scaly and scabbed up right now. Just keep it moist by using either A&D (which I highly reccomend) or plain, unscented, hypoallergenic lotion. It'll take a couple of weeks to heal completely, and that's as long as you don't have to get a touch up, which most tattoos require.
Good luck and don't pick at it! Just let the scabs fall off on their own.

tattoos take 1-2 weeks to heal. some scabbing is normal, but don't pick it. you can lose some of the color and worsen the scabbing if you do. continue to take care of it, and hopefully it will heal soon. if it doesn't heal in the allotted 1-2 weeks, go to your tattoo artist and have bits and pieces of the tattoo redone (your artist should do it for free or for a discount). if it becomes infected (beyond scabbing), see a doctor.

I would say give it a good two weeks. Your doing a great job keeping it moist. You dont want to rush it or pick at it because it could change the color or the brightness of your tatt. When I got my 2nd tatt i noticed that it healed faster when i rubbed lightly on my tatt in the shower with a sponge.

It should heal up pretty soon, don't scratch it! Keep lotion (like Aveeno) on it and you can use a (meat)(like the pads under the chicken or steak in the grocery store, clean of course)) absorbant pad if it is rubbing against jeans. Its OK to have the tattoo dry up just don't scratch it!

You can't rush the healing process of a tattoo. You have to just let it heal on it's own. Get yourself some Aquaphor (found at your local drug store) and that will help with the peeling. That's what my artist advised me to use.

it should take about 1 week to 2. Actually they sell a an ointment for when you get your tattoo. I don't think you should lotion, cause that can change or dilute the color of the ink though.
