With hindsight I now believe that in early childhood I sensed the presence of god . I did not know at the time or understand what was happening to me . I was walking down a country lane feeling really happy and at one with God and the world I can say I have never felt like it since . For He new all the sinful things I would think say and do, and despite that his hand was on my life . Even so , I can't say that I have acted on the teachings of his son Jesus Christ , as well as I should have done . All I can say is father in the name of Jesus Christ , look not upon my sinfulness but on the grace of your son and forgive a sinner like me. not my will farther but your will be done. in the name of Jesus Christ I ask this . It is so . Peter William lack .

How come I stumbled upon this question? You've held it open so perhaps you were not satisfied with the answers so far. Can I just tell you this...

Walking down by the sea shore, looking up at the night sky and the multitude of stars, I absolutely knew they, and I, had not got here by accident. I was about 7 years of age. I was convinced that there was a creator God in whom I could have confidence. Where did that come from?

Since then, like you, I know I have failed often. During the darkest moments of my life when I was wandering in a spiritual wilderness, the only prayer I felt worthy of uttering was the 'Lord's Prayer'; 'Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven.' Then come the requests, like give us each day our daily bread and lead us not into temptation. Although I was unworthy to call myself a Christian, I believed in my creator God, his son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. And my creator God believed in me, as he does in you.

I hope my prayer for you comes in time. You are not alone. God bless you - and thank God for this means of reaching out to others.

I quite often enjoy a unity with God and in a way it reminds me of how childhood felt. I was more at peace with the world back then, before I grew to know hate, violence and lies. I am grateful that Jesus has provided the way for me to know my Father and I truly look forward to the day I am called home. Thus while I am still dwelling here on this earth, I live as close to the image of Christ that I can. I share the love and compassion of Jesus with my family and friends. I've even come to the point where I feel Jesus catching me before I fall (I have prayed often for Him to help me in this way). I am in service to my Father, I live as He asks me to. Keep looking to Jesus my friend, he will cleanse you and show you the way to Our Father once again.

As a former Xian, i will fortunately say that my existence has been lots extra suitable considering that giving up that mumbo jumbo. As for perceptions, i'm going to gladly settle for any data you grant, and could evaluate it with an open techniques, yet till you could prepare me why I ought to believe the way you do, i won't. as long as there are tangible solutions to my questions, I won't droop to mythology, and if there are not solutions, this is positive too. we don't know each thing, yet i know the all-powerful, omnibenevolent, omniscient God of the Bible is a logical impossibility. Your long pseudo-psychological question delivers no data to the different; so i'm going to save on with my loss of theory.

Many peole have discovered a one-ness with God and the world through Y'shua (Jesus)
He does know everything about you but that will not stop him loving you.
He will not turn anyone away. Why not ask a Christian friend, call in at a local evangelical church (The salvation Army tend to be a friendly, caring bunch)
You are well on your way.
You will be in many people's prauyers

Perhaps you are missing something here. What if God was not interested in what you are referring to as sin. What if He did not see it at all.

What if the idea of sin was just a misperception that you had. Something you had been told about that was not true.

Think about it Peter.

I regularly felt like this as a child and a few times in my adulthood. My life has been either with this feeling of joy and connection with the world and God, indescribable or it has been a black pit of no connection with anyone or anything and feeling no joy in anything. I was meditating once, just letting everything happen, i lost all sense of myself as a seperate person. I could hear the birds and I was one with them - it was incredible.

I have sensed that many times. A sense of belonging and a feeling of peace. Usually when I am outside, or when i see something. sometimes it is a hint of something else, something that should be familiar to me, so close, but I can't quite seem to remember or place what it is.

I've felt that feeling multiple times. In fact, I can induce that state at will through firedance ritual. There's nothing 'magickal' about it, nor is it proof there is a deity, it's proof that you can get your brain to do really funky things if you're willing to overload yourself in one way or another.

I've experienced many of the same things that people have equated with some sort of godly or spiritual encounter. I can assure you, these feelings are just side effects of the perception of our complex physiology.

The concept and feeling of Unity is beautiful and exists in many religions and outside of religion. I have experienced it myself.
