Oh well, guess the proper way for me to eat a live octopus, would to be knee walkin' drunk and hope I didn't remember the little endeavor the next day.

They are never eaten live. Even the octopus served in a sushi bar is cooked.

I saw on a dicovery channel show that it is very dangerous to eat a live octopus because the suction cups on their tenticles can stick inside your throat and you can choke from them. it was the same idea about eating blow fish...the risk involved gets your adrenaline pumping but the food is nasty!
