Do you mean to say that we're losing our ability to be polite in this modern age of technology? Hiding behind our text communications and losing the capability to bew polite and friendly people in public social situations?

But, if you're referring to art...I don't think that artists today are neglecting any of the previous modes of art; modernism, mannerism, abstract, impressionism, surrealism, dada....the internet has given wider access to all artists who care to learn and allow themselves to be influenced by a greater number of things than ever before in history...

Don't forget that most movements don't get their names until decades later. We might think of ourselves as "modernists" now, but in 100 years there will probably be a more appropriate name for the art movements going on in the world in this day and age.
