Hmmmm yes I'm sending him to the vet in about 2 hours. I was curious, should i stick to herbal remedies to cure the ringworm or use prescription stuff fomr the vet? I don't want to pay all this money I don't have for something that may not work when i could have a cheap more effective herbal remedy? Anyone know any good remedies ?

Any athletes foot medication will work. That's how I treated my beagle. I used the aerosole version of Tinactin. The spray made it very easy to apply, and caused little or no stress to me or the dog. Just spray the spot once to twice a day (as directed on the can), and try to keep them in a dry environment.

go with what your vet gives you, it is the only good way to treat this fungus, it shouldn't be very expensive at all. Depending on the severity of it your cat will either need to be dipped in medicated baths or if it is a small area apply a topical cream. An oral anti-fungus drug may be used as well if it is severe.
Ringworm is really contagious so isolate your kitten from other animals, wear gloves when handling and wash everything in your house including you constantly until it is cleared up.

A cool "party trick" with a ringworm cat: many types of ringworm will flourece under a black light. Turn off all the lights and shine a black light on the spot and see if it glows!

hmmm...i would say to use the prescription only b/c if the herbal doesn't work then the kitty would suffer longer. But I do know what U R saying. I have 2 cats myself a 15 and 5 yr.

What I do is use pet insurance, here check out this website...it's really cheap! :)

I would use what the vet gives you. herbal stuff usually does not work and it will just put you and your family in a higher risk of contracting the ring worm (which is actually just a fungus)

good luck

Lamisil cream.. That is all you need. It will run it's course anyway...even if you do nothing. It is a mess, and everyone in the house can get it, but I would not spend any more money than Lamisil on it.
