Speak what's in your heart. Tell her she's the greatest mom ever, a blessing from the heavens. Best wishes.

I really liked Spitfin's reference to the quote by George Elliott, but the friendship reference should be about the husband and wife, not the child and mother, even if the child and mother are friends. Two comments though to all the responses: while it may be your mother who is getting married, there is still a groom (and step-father) involved. Do not forget to mention him; it is his day too. Oh, and remember, it is THEIR day. Don't make the toast about you.

i could placed money right into a tazer, gun, or knife. Or all 3. I carry a knife with me in any respect circumstances, regardless of the place i'm or what i'm doing. i do no longer stay in too undesirable of a community, yet we've had our uncomplicated share of rapes, murders, kidnappings, and muggings. in case you're no longer delicate carrying weaponry, or does no longer sense any safer, you should purchase a treadmill for him to stroll on. Ugh. Thats so detrimental. Its a tragic and pathetic international while all people is scared to go away their properties by using fact violence is the only ingredient that appeases stupid and ignorant people. be certain you're locking up at evening too, and by way of the day too. make stronger bolt locks and domicile windows, lock down something that must be stolen, sleep with a protecting weapon of your decision, exercising warning while leaving the domicile or driving on your community. Run over absolutely everyone that tries to stop your vehicle.

You've had many good ideas given to you here already.

Speaking as someone who's been in a second marriage with children on both sides, I'd like to offer an important suggestion.
Please include your new step father in your toast so he feels important and welcomed by you. This is a great way to get off to a good start.
Please don't leave him out of that toast.

Maybe say:
Today we celebrate the beginning of a wonderful adventure for my Mom, Jack, myself, and our dog Shellie. The life story that will unfold before us is one which we can be sure to be a wonderful one because the individuals coming together go together well and are ready to give it their all, and live life to the fullest.
We all know that all the people involved are super-duper incredible people, and they will continue to be even more super due to the love and kindness that they are determined to share, through easy and hard times. Cheers to the future for this awesome couple!!

Just tell your mom what you want to tell her, besides the parts that wouldn't be appropriate for a wedding, but yea :) You should say something like, even thought we have a somewhat broken family I think that we can fix it if we work together as a family and stick to it. Just tell her the essentials, i love you, I'm happy for you, and tell the guy, your future dad that you will in time except him and appreciate him for taking care of your mom, you and your siblings. Just be happy for you mom and future dad and let them see it.

Make it all about her. I know it may be tempting to let her know how she was your role model, or how she helped you or loved you or was there for you, but that makes it all about you.

Tell her she's never been more radiant. Wish for her a lifetime of happiness and love. She has found love as your mother, and will, all of her life but now it seems she has found love and will, as somebody's wife. If you want to make her laugh, take her aside before the wedding and give her the sex talk. Hee hee hee.

All the things you can think of that are complimentary to her and would make her feel good about herself.

What would you like someone to say about you?

Good times shared. The good things she has done in her life, for you and others.....

Just be nice and if she has a sense of humor some of the things that you have shared that would make her laugh along with those in attendance.

Speak from your heart. Just say mom, I know we have been through alot. Talk about your childhood and how she raised you and how she is a fantastic mother. Let her know that she has nothing to worry about. Tell her that you are happy for her and her husband and that you are happy to have him as your stepfather. Lastly, tell her that you love her and you will always be there for her.

Mothers most want to hear that their daughters realize that it is difficult to raise a child (because babies do NOT come with handbooks!) and that you someday hope to be as great a Mom as she has been. And that you love her. A lot.
