What would be good wording for an engagement announcement that will be sent out to everyone who is also on the invite list? The only thing is.... We don't have a date. It will be a little over a year for our engagement. The reason I want to send out the announcement in the first place is due to extended family whom I do not see very often and do not have a "phone" relationship with. I just want to make sure that everyone knows so that there wont be any hurt feelings. Please help!

I have done announcement cards on snapfish.com and they turned out great. Usually the engagement is officially announced and there is an engagement party about a month or two after the man proposes. So my advice would be to send out Valentine's Day themed photo cards, with a picture of you and your fiance, saying Happy Valentine's Day, and by the way we're engaged! If you have it coincide with Valentine's Day, its a perfect excuse to send a card anyway.

Why not take the next week or two to get a photo taken together. Once you've chosen the photo and created the photo cards, you'll receive them in the mail from snapfish.com in about 1-2 weeks. It will take another week to get everyone's address and write them out on the envelopes. By that time, it will be early February and the perfect time to send the cards out in time for Valentine's.

I don't see where feelings will be hurt but engagement announcements aren't sent by mail. They are printed in newspapers. When you select your date you can send save the date cards to anyone you will be inviting to the wedding if you feel they need to know in advance. ,,,and, you do not have to have a date to be engaged.

Well, if you know the timeframe but not the date of when you want to have it, you could always state that you and your fiancee "are planning to have a Spring 2008 wedding". Or whenever you plan on having it. No need for a date or a place for an announcement as its just letting people know you are engaged! :)

Congrats!

It relies upon on what you're doing-are you attempting to tell human beings to shop the date for the reception? if so use usual shop the date wording and templates permitting them to shop the date for the reception. once you're asserting your engagement basically you do no longer positioned any info appropriate to the marriage on it. basically state Bride and Groom joyfully announce their engagement as of March 10, 2007. i think of shop the dates are simpler yet engagement bulletins help unfold the be conscious, especially to pals and family participants you do no longer see lots. wedding ceremony bulletins come after the marriage and are ordinarily used now in case you had a small ceremony and reception or holiday spot wedding ceremony with very few human beings. you're able to then announce which you 2 at the instant are formally a pair, your new handle, and the call of latest couple (i.e. if the female variations her final call.)

Just do a general announcement saying you will be married sometime in 2008 (details to follow). Note: you are not really engaged until you have a date!

You can get a photo of you two printed at target - can do it online, pretty cheap to do (people do that a lot of christmas cards) announcing the engagement and can say a winter '07 or whenever it may be wedding is being planned.

You should really wait until you pick a date, that's kinda the whole point and remember if you send them an announcement, you have to invite them to the wedding. So if they are really extended family, will you be inviting them to the wedding?? Think carefully! And you will be surprised about word of mouth.... I didn't announce mine and it still spread quickly to all the out of state relatives.
