Its a catholic belief, but theres nothing wrong with it. Millions of years ago, humans didn't get married before sex, love had nothing to do with it, the male would have sex with many females, its NATURE, ITS REPRODUCTION! Marriage wasn't around millions of years ago, people didnt love each other to have sex, being promiscuous was normal, to reproduce humans. And now Catholics believe i have to love somebody to use my natural reproductive organs, its perfectly natural and theres NOTHING wrong with it. God didn't say "Humans, love one another, look after my animals, oh and err, no sex before marriage, marriage will be invented in 2000000 years time and will involve YOU LOVING SOMEBODY"

Your reasoning for a atheist would be acceptable, but since you mention God then there is a lot of conflict.
1. Adam and Eve was married as husband and wife by God in Genesis.
2. God said sexual intimacy is only permitted between husband and wife.
3. You may mixed up "Love " with "Lust". Love does not have to have sex as you think, although sex will help made the marriage relationship more intimate.
Not to mention all those desease and unwanted pregnancy problems, I do believe every thing has to has rules, so does having sex. Having sex comes with responsiblity.
Just like driving a car, you can drive without a license, but imagine, if every one is going to run the red light, how long before someone is going to get hurt.
So... you have the right to choose, but just do not forget about the consequences that follow.

well, i don't think it's the sex that's a problem. the only issue i see is when an unwanted pregnancy occurs. the mom's life is now over, even if she gets rid of the baby, because it can cause mental problems for her.and sometimes, diseases are spread that can hurt other people, like AIDS. so if there was a way to have completely safe sex-no STDs, no pregnancy-I would so no issue

If it is done using condoms there is nothing wrong with it.
Remember that for catholics fanatics, sex is just for reproduction. You are not suppose to enjoy it.
Seen like that it would not make sense to practice before marriage.

...Go ahead and cross God if you you want to - it is unwise and wrong. I won't cross Him and I will enjoy all the benefits of obeying Him (like really loving people and not just using them to satisfy lust, no STDs, no guilt, and no unwanted and/or unplanned babies).

It is not about good or bad, it just is. Even in the mythical 1950s where conservatives claim life was close to perfect, 90% of Americans had premarital sex.
We are biological creatures and that drive is more powerful than any God, religion, or puritan morality. So it is now and so it has always been. Religious people have more abortions and commit more crimes than atheists, they just lie about it, so don’t take their hypocrisy seriously.

I have 4 grown up children and I would be horrified if any of them got married without first having had a sexual realtionship with their partner.
How do you know you are going to be sexually compatibile unless you try it first?
I think it's irresponsible NOT to have sex before marriage.
Having said that, I do not agree with promiscuity, and would be equally horrified if I found any of my children were behaving in this way.
I believe that love, kindness and respect are very important parts of relationships.

I am a Catholic and i agree with some of what you say. I don't think there IS anything wrong with sex before marriage. The Church as an institution might think so, but plenty of individual catholics dont.
Live by what YOU think is right.

Hmmm, I am a Christian and I of course dont think we should be shagging everything in sight, but I really don't see not having sex before marriage as a really good platform to stand on in our times.

Islam doesnt allow sex before marriage. it sex was allowed, just imagine how many men would carry aids/hiv and pass it on to their wife, then the kids who are born with it. men sleeping around getting women pregnant, raising abortion rates and fatherless kids, mothers who end getting preganant at the age of 16. girls struggling to live to cope with living single arent and ending up as prostitutes to make ends meet.
youngeters would go on streets prostituting at the age of 16.
there would be less respect for women.
would you like to marry someone who has slept with 301 women and half way cought aids, then you married him only to find he as assed it to you and you are pregnant. half way through pregancy he dies of the didease and you baby is born fatherless. then 3 years down the line you rkid ends up in a home cuase ouve just diedo fit.
Religions arent religions and books are written for a reason, abide by them and youl be safe.

In about 100 years this will be common.
Whats wrong with that?
These are just values. We love to change our values and traditions.
Remember about 100 years ago nobody could ever think of sex before marriage.
