Good question!!

You seem a bit confused. in Islam sex before marriage is a sin for men AND women - therefore a Muslim man/woman should be avirgin on their wedding night. If some Muslim men or women arent due to fornication they have committed a sin and should repent.

The existance of virgins in heaven doesnt preclude their existence on earth - how could it?

With regards heaven - men and women will get anything they want or ask God for -it is after all heaven - thus this includes virgins if they want these
In Islam the reserrecution is of the body not just of the soul - the Quran describes the delights of paradise in a sensual way - food, sex etc because every human can understand these pleasures

I always find it strange that some people attack Islam because we get sexual pleasure in heaven also - its heaven isnt it?? your religion must be pretty boring if you are denied one of the most joyous expereinces in heaven !!

Ultimately in islam the greatest pleasure is looking upon the countenance of God - though since he doesnt have a physical countenance or direction this is not the vision of the eyes

I think the answer of the Islamic scholar GF Haddad is apposite to quote here:

Very often I hear from non-Muslims negative remarks regarding 72 virgins in paradise for shuhada(martyrs*). Can you teach me a good answer about that issue, or guide me to some article about it.

Wa `alaykum as-Salam:

Tell them that the perfection of Islam dictates that it have a motivation for every type of person including those that are not motivated except through sensory reward, which is the common lot whether Christians deny it or not, and that the principle of Paradise as reward for martyrs is also very much present in their doctrine. However, Paradise in Islam also describes a higher level called ridwan i.e. the lavishing of Divine good pleasure, to which we pray that Allah guide us.

Hope this clears things up
All the best

* not these are for martyrs - people who deliberately target and kill civilians e.g 9/11 or 7/7 etc are murderers in sharia not martyrs

they don't have to wait till they die to meet a virgin. In the Muslim culture a woman has alot of pressure on them to remain virgins until they marry. If they don't remain pure it is a disgrace to their family and many honor killings result. where you are getting the virgin thing from is the Koran which says if you self sacrifice in the name of Allah (Muslim god) that you will receive 99 virgins upon death. I guess its kinda like a man heaven.

the whole thing about getting virgins in heaven is false. theres no such thing. Heaven in the Quran is described as beautiful gardens where we will be at bliss praying to God. We wont be in the physical state we are in now therefore there is no need for virgins there. its all symbolic and some stupid people cannot understand it and now people think that if they partake in a terroristical act, they will be rewarded with 72 virgins. One day they will realize their stupidity, God willing. I hope you stop spreading this misunderstanding.
Peace

I think it's assumed that Muslim women are virgins until marriage. That has nothing to do with afterlife beliefs.

The idea behind the men getting a stack of them in paradise is that the reward for behaving on earth is getting to deflower a stack of virgins and then bang them for all eternity.

I think you have worded your question wrongly, they dont wait until they die before they meed a virgin. In Islam every thing in paradise/heaven is pure and clean inc the women, each women will resemble the mans wife that he was married to before he passed away, there will be seven of them in total

oh please! dont even try to act like Christianity doesnt honor a virgin,,,, and what does purity of spirit have to do with virginity anyway??? all of the major known religions put virginity/purity/moral values in the womans hand,,,,,,,,,, as their main topic,, except for a few native american ones,,, women no longer feel they must be the keepers of the family , of morals, its time for the man to carry their fair share,,,, so its really irrelevant, right?/

stupid question.....

muslim men can and should marry a good, sincere woman ( i don't mind having a partner even if she is a christian or jew as long as she is a good, caring person.

the notion of 72 virgins is a reward to be given by Allah / God for muslims who lived their lives as a good and caring person and helped others and did what is right and fight for what is wrong...all other crap people say about this idea is just bogus!

Well, they don't...

But it makes you wonder how muslim men can be experienced at love-making when women have to stay virgins till they marry. Who do the men have sexual experiences with? Themselves? Eachother?
