generally speaking those are quit gradually over long time periods, but they should only be stopped according to doctor's advice. also you should try searching more information about anti psychotics at a professional site like the Health Information Center http://google.com/coop/cse?cx=007185308018807068018%3Ax2z07lqx3mg where you got results from trusted health sites.

well you shouldn't unless directed from a doctor but how i was taken off my antidepressants were they had me only take like 3/4 of the dose then 1/2 of the dose until i was bearly takin gany to nothin gat all . .like i was on prozac, zoloft, lexapro, and someother one i can't think of adn everytime they switched me or took me off they would give me like 3 difference bottles with special doses in them so i could take the right amount instead of trying to cut the pills. but def don't just stop taking them you may feel way worse then you ever have! i did it once when i was in high school and it almost turned out bad! so i can't stress enough not to just stop

Don't just stop taking them. If they're not working or you're having bad side-effects, whatever the reason is that you want to stop taking them, then you need to talk to your doctor about it.
This way they can work with you on finding different meds or, if you don't need the meds anymore, they can inform you how to taper of the medication gradually.

Look in the mirror and ask yourself some serious questions.
(1) Am I dangerous to myself and /or others?
(2) Do I need these drugs in my system to protect society from me?
(3) Am I out of touch with reality most of the time?
If yes to even a sixteenth of one of these questions, do not stop taking those drugs!!!!

This type of medication should not be suddenly discontinued. They need to be tapered down to quit taking them. Best to ask your doctor for specific directions to taper down and off them.

Make sure you talk with a doctor first. You have to do it really slowly or else it will really mess you up. Are you sure you need to quit them? Cuz maybe you really should stay on them. Just talk with a doc first.

you could ask a physician in case you incredibly should be attentive to the scientific outcomes of doing the two. in short, going abruptly from one element to a distinctive will reason issues, that's why that is important to spouse with your physician or counselor heavily whilst making transitions, or stepping down or upping use of medicine.

taper off slowly WITH A DOCTORS OK. Do NOT stop cold turkey or you will send your entire system into a state of confusion and you might get quite ill. SLOWLY, VERY SLOWLY, taper off.
