The best thing you can do is to start off slowly and ease your body back into working out. If you push too hard in the beginning, your recovery time will be really long and you won't be able to work out for days at a time. Start off slowly until your body adjusts, then gradually increase your exercise times and/or weights. You'll see results in no time. Good luck.

Just push yourself...i'm doing the same thing, I have not been to the gym in a few weeks, and im going for the first time today. Right now I am tired and I don't want to go..but i'm forcing myself. If you feel like you want to stop 20 minutes in to your workout, just dont. Period. Dont do it. Just keep on going. Try to go for at least 50 mins. Then tomorow, do another 50 then the next do an hour. You'll feel really good. Try to incorporate a little bit of weight lifting, but not a lot until you lose the weigh you want, as it will make you look bulky.

My only suggestion is to keep it up! Don't take a break this time and go consistently. Thats the best way to lose the weight. If you take a break, you basically start back at square one and have to start all over! Also, make sure you are eating healthy...that is a big part of weight loss and a healthy lifestyle.

Start out slow. Perhaps 20 minutes per day three or four times a week. You can slowly increase your time after a week or two. This way, you will more likely stay with a routine. If you do too much too soon, you might burn out. Also, if at all possible, invite a friend to join you. You can encourage each other. Best wishes to you for a happy and healthy new year!

Find a work out routine that you are comfortable with, and to do that you can ask the trainers most gyms provide. Since you've been on a break remember to take it slow and don't put too much stress on your body. Eat healthy, lots of protein and water. Also remember to do plenty of cardio in you're work out. If your gym has a kickboxing class or spinning those are great work outs !! Remember to set a goal and go for it!!!

Remember to warm up (10 min) and stretch pre-/post-exercise and you should be good. Oh, and don't try to do too much too soon. Slightly lower weight/time than what you were doing when you last worked out.

My suggestion is just to be consistent. Eat well and incorporate enough cardio and strength training to keep your metabolism high.
