iwhat would be the round-about sq footage price, excluding materials, to frame a ten foot long, 8 ft high wall and standard door. Not including dry wall or door lock installation and assuming no special requirements. I'm know there's not one universal price, but what's a reasonable and fair price for a US carpenter to charge?

most carpenters i know of charge 10 to 15 dollars and hour some charge around 20. check your yellow pages for carpenters or look in the classified and see what carpenters are in your area compare them and see who is the cheapest and most reliable. its better to pay more for someone who knows what thier doin than to get a guy whos cheap but wont do a good job.

I usally charge material price times 2, for a 10x8 wall with an interior door you are looking at about $75 for materials and $150 for the whole job, if its an exterior door add about $100 to material price, which would bring it to about $350 for the job.

Very simple project. I would suggest going to the local vocational school and asking the building trades instrucor to recommend a student to assist you. Students alway need extra money.

For just a framed ten foot long wall with one door, it would almost take longer to drag out the tools and put them away than to build the wall.
