She was His best friend

Most people grieve over the sadness of a friend as well as a family member. Since the da vinci code movie, people consider Mary a prositute. Only Jesus changed her life and made it better. He was like a brother or father to her. She lost the one thing that made a difference in her life. I cried when Mother Teresa died.

Because of the kind of person that Jesus was, the people who were close to him loved and missed missed him greatly. I can only imagine how filled with grief I would have been. Mary felt the same agape love for Jesus as I feel for him even now, but she was with him day after day. Jesus was not married. Where do people come up with such dishonoring ideas?

She waited by his grave because she knew he was the son of God and her Savior. She had been a harlot, but when she recognized Jesus' power to forgive her, she went on bended knees before him and wept and kissed and dried his feet with her hair, begging for forgiveness for her bad lifestyle....and he forgave her. She then became one of Jesus' followers and waited at his grave to see his words come true that he would be risen from the dead after 3 days in hell and his body would see no corruption. She waited because she knew and believed in Jesus' teachings. Jesus never came to earth to be married as a mortal man. He had been an angel in Heaven,
God's first born son of all creation, who came to replace the perfect life of Adam that was lost in the Garden of Eden. He died as a perfect human...the ONLY ONE who could gain a chance for everlasting life back for mankind after sin entered the world through Satan's lies.
The Bible tells us that Satan is the ruler of this world...see Revelations 12 verse 9, and that he is deceiving the entire inhabited world with his lies and through false religion people have believed many lies around the world, BUT the truth is being preached now in more than 230 different lands around the earth...and then the Bible says the end will come. I believe this is part of the culture. You see a lot of Middle-Eastern people doing this. If she didn't really believe that He would rise again, she would have thought that she would have lost a good friend, not to see Him again until the last resurrection. I grieve some when I lose a friend. This is natural.

But I think she went back to embalm the body, didn't she?

Because she loved him. I love many of my friends so much that I would grieve by their grave side. I believe I have friends that love me the same way and would be at my husbands side.

If you read the bible account you would see that Mary and the other women went to the tomb to prepare Jesus' body for burial. As it was the Friday afternoon when he died and was taken off the cross they didn't have time before the Sabbath started. they couldnt touch a dead body during the Sabbath (Saturday) which is why they went to the tomb on the Sunday morniing.
she and the other friends of Jesus greived because they had had their hopes dashed seeing him crucified. don't you grieve over friends who die even if you are not married to them?

Why did the other Mary do it too. Also can not a friend grieve by a grave site. If you use your logic then I am my grandma husband because I waited by her grave and grieved.
