Get him something really nice for his birthday, and try to show your appreciation in other ways.

Typically people don't give gifts because they hope they get something in return. If the situation were reversed, what would you want your fiancé to do? Take it as your fiancé wanting to do something nice for you and surprise you. You can always give him a good surprise for New Years like a massage, champagne, etc, etc, etc...

Well it is his fault, lol but maybe you should plan a romantic evening, make or order his favorite meal and wrap yourself in a bright bow wearing nothing but the earrings. You can buy him something great on his birthday or for New Years maybe.

You agreed that you wouldn't exchange gifts. You stuck to the deal. He didn't. Perhaps he truly wanted to surprise you with the gift...don't make it into a competition.

You two agreed to not do anything big, He chose to surprize you. You don't have to do anything for him except be grateful for the gift, and if you tweo are already intimate a little unexpected jump the bones action works well too.

Sneak him a fancy watch and have it remain anonymous but then if he asks you, smile and say, "I thought we said no exchanging gifts. Oh well, I guess I just couldn't help myself. Sorry its a little late."
