about 20 minutes depending on how thick you cut the chunks

If you boil it in a pot, check after about 20 minutes by poking one of the potatoes with a fork. If it is soft, then it is ready. If it is not soft, then leave it and check again in 10 minutes with the same routine.

If you cut them up into cubes, then they will cook faster.

Here's a recipe:

Don't peel the skin of the potatoes, and after they are done cooking, mash them in a bowl. Add butter, milk, salt, and garlic powder. You have a delicious mashed potato recipe! Enjoy.

Could be 20-35 minutes, depending on the size (and your altitude). Whole or cubed? Regardless, they should all be about the same size. The smaller they are cubed, the faster they'll boil.

Add enough water to just cover the potaotoes, do not boil with a lid on. They're done when a fork can easily pierce through.

When boiling the potatoes, put potatoes in when the water bubbles a lot. after u put them in, wait until the water bubbles a lot again. drain potatoes and put in a pot, add water. (about 5-6 mins. length) with a large spoon, mash potatoes. enjoy!

Until tender when pierced with a fork. Cooking time varies with size of potato, whether or not you're boiling them whole or cut up and they type of potato .. i.e. red potatoes and Yukon golds cook faster than russet/idaho.

Not important. just stick a fork in one to ascertain whether it is soft enough to mash.
