Why not let them believe what they will and Atheists believe what they will? How come people are always trying to trip them up with these uninformed questions?

You will find a true Christian to be a humble believer, they don't force views on anyone, they don't argue teachings and you will find them doing good will.
Everyone that says they are Christians are not. Kinda along the lines of beauty is in the eye of the beholder, what one may see as beautiful, another may not. I'm sure Atheists and any other religion should be the same way. No reason to try and force ANYTHING on anyone. As a Christian, I know that my God is not a forceful God, nor does he say in his word to try and FORCE anyone to do anything for him!

Because they are trying to force their beliefs on others. No other religion is as closed minded, bigoted, prejudiced, and cruel as Christianity.

Put it this way, instead of deciding if animal cruelty is right for society as a whole, Christians debate whether the bible allows it and, if the bible allows it, are generally fine with it.

They try to take the moral high ground but really are no more moral than any Atheist.

The world needs to realize that this is the only life we have. Only then will the terrible things in existance start to be solved. If you're always looking for tomorrow, how can you ever solve the problems of today? Meaning, if you're always looking for the afterlife, and the next life, how can you ever really solve the problems now because in your head you see "but there's always tomorrow".

When Christians can learn to keep their religion to themselves, and stop trying to force the rest of the world to live by what they believe, then, and only then, will the world get better.

And that is the only time that the rest of us should leave them be.

Religion is used as an excuse for too many bad things.

Uninformed? It's not wrong for Christians to believe what they want to! Its wrong for Christians to tell everyone else to. Throughout history, this is what they did. In many cases, people died because they didn't believe. Its not wrong for anyone to believe anything- but forcing your beliefs should be considered a crime against humanity.

Because Christians want everyone to know Jesus. Jesus commanded this disciple, "Go forth and preach the Gospel." We are call forth to convert people to the One True God.

However, force conversion should not be used. True conversion comes from the heart, and only the Holy Spirit can change a man's heart and see that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.

Christians want everyone to be saved from eternal damnations.

Christians have just as much right to believe as anyone else. It's not the real christians that people try and trip up. They accept that the bible was written by men, and therefore is a guide to life, and does contain some errors. It's the fundies who are the problem.

I have no problem with Christians believing what they do... as long as they are responsible enough to keep it to themselves. Instead we have Christians running around trying to create a theocracy, trying to force their particular brand of religion onto our children in schools, Hindering medical progress because their beliefs aren't compatible with science... If all Christians were responsible enough to understand that their belief system is a personal choice and should be kept personal, we would be OK... instead a few bad apples ruin it for the entire bunch.

When moderates don't stand up against the radicals they are just as guilty.

Bible tells us since they hated Christ they will hate his followers. So why be so suprised that Christians are persecuted. The freedom from religion group has a website but it doesn't say anything about Islam or Hindu or even Budist. Instead all of its hate propaganda is directed towards Christianity. I think they should change the name to freedom from Christianity instead.

Isn't it wrong to believe that you are justified when you claim to know who is or who is not going to "burn in hell"? Isn't it wrong to try to put your religious beliefs into the laws of this land? Isn't it wrong to teach your children bigotry?

There are many wonderful intelligent and open minded Christians that do none of those things. Then there are the ignorant fundies who claim to know just how God feels about everything. Is that logical at all?

It isn't wrong for a Christian to believe in god.

Just as it isn't wrong for an atheist not to believe.

But when you have two groups of people that have polar opposite beliefs/view they tend to have very heated discussions.

Which I personally don't mind as long as it doesn't get insulting.

Most people would rather insult than have a good debate, I'm afraid. This is with all religions and lack of. They don't represent the masses, but a noisy minority always gets more attention.
