been wearing them for a couple of years, I still dread the daily ritual of taking them out. They stick to my eyeball. Yes, I use rewetting drops, tried different brands like accuview and others. Nothing helps. Should I give up on contacts? Are hard lenses any better?
Please advise if you've had this problem

I find that if you wear them too much your eyeballs themselves get dry, even if the contacts are wet. So they start sticking. I find that you need to wear them as recommended, like 10 hours a day, or from morning to night. And dont skimp on your solution, get the stuff the eyedoctor recommends vs. the walmart brand or store brand. And not blinking enough really makes your eyes dry. Hope this helps.

Try the new Acuvue Oasys. It is a silicon hydrogel. It needs less liquid to stay wet. It is an excellent problem solving lens.
It sounds like your eyes may be dry because this is a common reason for the lens sticking to your eye. If so, then going to a gas perm may also be problematic since they need a good tear film to work well.
Another possiblity is the new Acuvue Daily Wear Wet lens. It is a one day disposable lens made with the new material.

You need to talk to your doctor about finding the right lenses for you. I got tired of taking them out every night and putting them back in and now I use the kind that you can leave in all week, remove/clean and put them back in for another week. The key to all contact lense wearers is to keep them clean to avoid infections. Hard lenses are not any better....talk to you doctor and keep trying till you find the ones you like.

i have never had this issue with my contacts, but if you have had them for years, and are old enought and have been wearing contacts and glasses/ having bad eye problems for a majority of your life, i suggest lazor eye surgery. My mother has had it and it is a bit costly but she said it was the best thing in her life and no worrys about contacts and such.

Yeah, it shouldn't smell. How long have you had it open for? - the expiry date assumes you have kept it sealed and then only open for 60 days or so (it says on the packaging). I would discard it (and the lenses and the case) though - you don't really want that in your eyes if it has been contaminated.
