Hell yes I did! I’ve never felt better! It's not as hard as you might think. It's only a little difficult the first couple weeks because you're craving it. But what I found was that the craving was EASILY satisfied by drinking ANYTHING. Seriously, think about it. If your stomach is full, then you can't crave any drink. So I would carry a bottle of water around with me. When I wanted a soda, I would starting drinking the water like crazy. When I was full, no more craving.
I hadn't had a soda in almost two years and one day I was hot and really thirsty and my buddy brought me a coke, and I though, what the hell, I've gone long enough, so I drank it and seriously, I wasn't satisfied at all. That stuff just doesn't truly "quench your thirst" like it claims.
Also, there’s nothing wrong with the carbonation, it’s just all the sugar and other nasty stuff. If you really like the carbonation, sparking/tonic water like San Pellegrino and Perrier is good. All you do is mix it with apple juice, orange juice or something like that.
There’s also a drink called Izze, you can get them at Starbucks and some other grocery stores. It’s like a Clearly Canadian, but with %100 fruit juice and equals a single daily serving of fruit.
I also drink those Arizona teas a lot now. Really good and has natural sugars for the fix, but doesn’t make you crave more. Good luck!

Yes, I gave up sodas at the beginning of the year. Well, periodically I'll drink a Coke (once a Qtr), but it has really worked well. I've lost weight but I don't attribute it the sodas. I've been working out a lot and I've changed my eating habits a little bit. However, I have noticed a HUGE difference in my skin....but that could also be because I'm drinking a lot of water. I am not sure your purpose for asking, but I will tell you that quitting is do-able.....just drink ice cold water when you feel the need for a soda.

I haven't yet but I'm trying. Giving them up would be akin to giving up smoking from a health standpoint.
1.) If you don't drink diet drinks then your soda is probably sweetened by high fructose corn syrup. This is a cute little item that was invented somewhere in Asia back in the 70's as a cheap alternative to raw sugar. The average American who is now in their 40's on up is approx. 40 pounds overweight. The body does not recognize high fructose corn syrup as a sugar that needs to be properly metabolized. As a result the pancreas does not produce the insulin necessary to metabolize it and it is thus stored in the body as fat. Oh and by the way, diabetes is really out of control as a result of this. The sad thing is that most foods have high fructose corn syrup in it. If you find foods with natural sugars as sweeteners, you have to go to the health food section most of the time and it will cost more.
2.) If you drink diet sodas then you have to deal with aspartame or splenda or some other chemical sweetener and all of them have proven among other things, to rot your brain and memory.

I've given up soda (or pop as we call it in Cleveland) recently, only I decided to make it permanant. There weren't any negative side effects to it, and actually I feel much better without it. The sodium and carbonation in the pop can upset a stomach when ingested in mass quantities, so I feel better without it in my system. And it doesn't take long, after giving up pop for a week, it'll start to burn if you drink it again. Good luck if you decide to do it!

Yes I started to drink Tang, Ice Tea, or freshly made Lemonade.
I did loose a bit of weight, the first weeks were a killer because i had cravings but the solution was not to keep soda in the house . When I did decide to try soda again I felt it extremly sweet. I now try to keep juices in the house, I ocassionally will buy sodas but i buy the mexican made ones that come in Pineapple, Tamarind, or Apple Flavors, I find that they will satisfy the fizz craving, and their not as sweet as commercial sodas.

Personally, I don't like it that much. My first choice at a restaraunt is water with extra lemon. I have to admit, I don't think there has been a whole year in my life whenI didn't have any soda, but pretty close. I'm glad we don't keep liters of soda around my house.

Yeah, I drastically cut back on my soda consumption a few years ago and hardly ever drink it now. All that sugar's horrible for you. Same thing with vending machine snacks. Fruit, coffee, and lots of water get me through the day. Plus exercise.

I guess you can say yes...I use to drink cokes all the time. But then decided I liked beer instead. So I really have not had a soda in quite sometime.

I gave up pop 4 years ago and never looked back. I feel so much more healthy and energetic, have much better skin and have lost weight. Can't stand the stuff now, can't believe I used to drink it!

Sure, but it accompanied a holistic diet. Felt great. I find as long as I eat well, a soda once in a while makes no difference to my health. I am not a strict holistic eater; I believe in balance. I eat ice cream and goodies but keep it all in balance.
