go take the ASVAB, that will tell you if you are even qualified to join the navy or not. Many aren't, so you won't be alone.

Some great men once said the following.

Where can you find pleasure
Search the world for treasure
Learn science technology
Where can you begin to make your dreams all come true
On the land or on the sea
Where can you learn to fly
Play in sports or skin dive
Study oceanography
Sign up for the big band
Or sit in the grandstand
When your team and others meet

In the navy
Yes, you can sail the seven seas
In the navy
Yes, you can put your mind at ease
In the navy
Come on now, people, make a stand
In the navy, in the navy
Can't you see we need a hand
In the navy
Come on, protect the motherland
In the navy
Come on and join your fellow man
In the navy
Come on people, and make a stand
In the navy, in the navy, in the navy (in the navy)

They want you, they want you
They want you as a new recruit

If you like adventure
Don't you wait to enter
The recruiting office fast
Don't you hesitate
There is no need to wait
They're signing up new seamen fast
Maybe you are too young
To join up today
But don't you worry 'bout a thing
For I'm sure there will be
Always a good navy
Protecting the land and sea

In the navy
Yes, you can sail the seven seas
In the navy
Yes, you can put your mind at ease
In the navy
Come on now people, make a stand
In the navy, in the navy
Can't you see we need a hand
In the navy
Come on, protect the motherland
In the navy
Come on and join your fellow man
In the navy
Come on people, and make a stand
In the navy, in the navy, in the navy (in the navy)

They want you, they want you
They want you as a new recruit

Who me?

They want you, they want you
They want you as a new recruit

But, but, but I'm afraid of water.
Hey, hey look
Man, I get seasick even watchin' it on TV!

They want you, they want you in the navy

Oh my goodness.
What am I gonna do in a submarine?

They want you, they want you in the navy

If you feel the need to grow, the navy will give you that chance, as will any branch of the military. Apply and see if you qualify.

As for Phoenix, just let the young man follow his dreams. After all, it's young men like him that have kept this country free. As per you and the Libs, it's people like you that are tearing this great country apart. Afraid to fight for anything (some might even refer to it as a yellow streak) "Can't we all just get along" "Let's just talk it over". Here's a talking point for you, would love to be able to have a couple of the terrorist spend a few days with you in your home and just chat things up. Wonder who would come out on top?

My cousin joined when he was 18. He traveled the world and spent two years on a nuclear sub. He married a Navy officer when he was 24. They now have 3 kids and they are still in the Navy. They are making a career out of it. When they retire, their benefits will be excellent. You can't go wrong with the Navy. You may not always agree with them, but they will take care of you.

The navy is certainly an option; you should meet with a recruiter and see what it has to offer you. If you like what you hear and it sounds realistic, then weigh the pros and cons go whatever sounds the best. Also, see if the Navy can place you in a field that can translate to civilian life work.

Stay in college if your in. Officers have a much better pay check and sleep in their own quarters not in triple bunk beds like the enlisted. If you feel you must blow off your college education than enlist now as the navy hasn't had a real war in a long time. It is the safest service and gets around to many countries it sure enlightened me to many cultures and different cultures.

I'm in the Navy. It's up to you. If you have a good attitude, are willing to work hard for good reward, you'll enjoy the Navy. If you're an unmotivated lazy bum, hate working hard and don't get along with most people, you'll hate it.

Good luck. Talk to a recruiter and find a job you think you'll like.

The military will help you grow as a person. I'm not saying you don't know these things, but they teach you honor, respect, honestly, trust, independance, and a lot of other things.

Just make sure that's what you want to do, because you will be giving years of your life to the armed forces, and there's nothing you can do once you sign up.

If you truly think college is a waste, and truly are tired of living at home - then go and do it.

Just make sure to ask yourself if you really are ready. Think about it. Don't just say "yes" to the question out of impulse.

If you feel that you want to, go ahead and do it. It's your choice - that's just about the only freedom you have - to make your own decisions, and not let anyone make them for you.

yea just join the navy or something. Pretty much guarentees a successful future because you will always have a job when you are in it, and you can get away from home and experience new things.

I wasn't going to answer this until I read someone quoting the Village People. Please don't do that again!

Seriously, join now. Who knows, but it might turn into a career and then you'll be set. 38 years old, retired, and capable of doing just about anything you want when you want.
