In fact I am spayed,in a way,I have had a hysterectomy for many years now,so I had it done and I feel fine with it. Spaying dogs, which is the same that I had done being a human and do NOT call me a nasty name either, prevents unwanted births,in animals just as in humans. Also, men get Vasectomies done, which is the same as neutering a male dog. So I do not see what your point is. There would be a lot less animals running around without being properly vaccinated or homeless if more conservation in this area was done. I for one,am for spaying or neutering your animals, when we had a cat,she was spayed, and BOTH our dogs are spayed as well.

Why do you feel spaying and neutering should be illegal? The animal is sedated before this happens and most vets give pain medication to take home. The pet population would be horrendous if dogs and cats weren't spayed and neutered. Did you know that in a female cats lifetime she can have like over 300 babies? That's a lot of kittens to try to find homes for. There are shelters all over the U.S. that have to kill hundreds of animals each year because they can't find them homes. I feel all people should have their pets spayed or neutered.

Female dogs who are not spayed have a high risk of developing mammary cancer or pyometra which is an infection in the uterus. Both of these conditions are potentially fatal.

Male dogs who are neutered age quicker because of the production of testosterone. In addition it increases their odds of developing teticular cancer tremendously, it also allows agressive behaviors fueled by hormones to continue and possibly increase.

Spaying for a cat or dog involves surgical removal of the uterus, the fallopian tubes and the ovaries.

Neutering a cat or dog, involves an incision in the scrotum and then the surgical removal of the testicals and spermatic cords.

The statistics on the numbers of animals euthanized at Humane Societies and other shelters is staggering.

Owning a pet means accepting responsibility for their health and the ramifications of over population.

How many unwanted animals that die in the streets or are humanely euthanized or gassed to death in shelters do you think is reasonable?

Spay your female or neuter your male.

Spaying and neutering animals should be a law. There are far too many animals on the street. Live in Mexico and see the dog packs roaming around which will attack your pet without provocation. I feed the gypsy dogs until the clinic comes for the free spaying and neutering, its a godsend for us and for the unwanted dogs and cats.

What are you dumb?? if dogs and cats weren't spayed and nuetered, there would be millions more unwanted dogs and cat being put to sleep every year. Neutering or spaying and animale is probably one of the most humane things a person can do for an animale.

WOW what a stupid question!!males are neutered and females are spayed!!! the amount of unwanted euthanized dogs in this country is huge.... we would be over-run with diseased unwanted dogs.... not spaying and neutering is just plain ignorant!!!... mabey you should go in and get neutered... you sound like the type of person that should not procreate!! Try using spell check next time and getting your facts straight....smile

ps....I am spayed!!!

You bet you should neuter and spay your pets. Our humane societies are over flowing with unwanted cats and dogs who only want a good home and loving owner. And since the subject was brought up there are plenty of humans out there that should be cut, too.

I would love to get spayed. The doctors won't do it cuz I might change my mind. So I'm going to have to practice something called self control and responsiblility. You show me a dog with those qualities and I'll agree with you. You start saving us billions on taxes that are being spent on eauthinizing animals. You tell me how you feel watching them die, on the streets, and in the shelters. Then I'll agree with you!

wow, that is clearly an uneducated statement! Not only does neutering stop aggression and unwanted puppies that get euthanized after overcrowding shelters, but it also eliminates the risk of prostate cancer in male dogs (which is very common).. thank god we have advanced enough to be able to neuter and spay animals.. it makes life easier on both humans and their canine/feline companions

Whatever. Spaying is a good thing because some dogs can't handle getting pregnant because they are old and weak. Plus I would rather have dogs spayed and neutered because think about all the puppies that that dog has. What if you can't sell or give them all away, if you give them to shelter they could be put to sleep. Now think about it --------spay or neuter--------- or -------------------put to sleep----------. personally I pick spay and neutering animals
